I’M SO EXCITED! I hope Gwen has a lot of success with this new album.September 18, 2014 at 4:19 pm #402338
Gwen’s voice would fit perfectly with today’s radio audience. Let’s just hope they don’t confuse her with Charli XCX lolSeptember 18, 2014 at 5:40 pm #402339
She is a better solo artist in my opinion so I am glad she is doing this. Her albums are always fun.October 18, 2014 at 10:05 am #402341
OMG it’s so much better than I ever expected. I hope this smashes! Gwen deserves a huge comeback.October 18, 2014 at 10:26 am #402342
It’s okay. As a fan of Gwen, I hope it does well.October 18, 2014 at 1:31 pm #402343
It’s a good song. But it doesn’t feel like a huge comeback single. Hope to be proven wrong though, as I would really welcome a Gwen comeback. Surprised to she she didn’t go with something more fun and energetic.October 20, 2014 at 11:17 am #402344
After a single listen, I’m quite impressed. The song would have worked perfectly during the summer. Its energy still comes through. I hope it succeeds.October 20, 2014 at 11:48 am #402345
Very pleasantly suprised by this! Great job, Gwen and Ryan Tedder! I hope this song smashes.October 20, 2014 at 2:39 pm #402346
BDL is like the quintessential Gwen Stefani/No Doubt sound. Very reggae pop influenced. I hope the music video looks as freakin’ awesome as the single cover.October 21, 2014 at 12:34 am #402347
I like it! This is the perfect time for Gwen to be releasing new music while she’s on The Voice.October 21, 2014 at 7:23 am #402348
…because all of the judges have had their music careers do better while on the Voice.October 21, 2014 at 8:17 am #402349
They really have. Especially Maroon 5.October 21, 2014 at 8:31 am #402350
They really have. Especially Maroon 5.
Adam Levine and Blake Shelton are really the only two judges who seem to have benefited from being on The Voice, though I think Maroon 5 would probably still have seen virtually the same level of success they have recently with or without Levine as a judge. They just make that radio friendly type of music that appeals to a wide audience. I think those two are just the most likable and charismatic, which helps them gain fans/followers.
The other judges, though—-it hasn’t seemed to do much for them. Aguilera suffered two gigantic flops while being a judge, though she rode the coattails of Maroon 5 to have a hit with “Moves Likes Jagger,” which, let’s face it–would have been a hit without her on the track.
Actually, appearing as a judge on any reality show seems NOT to help an artist more than it actually helps them.
With that said, the new Gwen song is ok—it’s not as good as anything she released from her first two solo albums.
