I know many people on here know about artist that haven’t had their breakthrough yet. Who do you think will have a major breakout during the 2016 Grammy Eligibility cycle to warrant a BNA bid.

My pick would be Ella Henderson. I know she’s already big in the U.K. but not really know in the US but I’ve know her since her elimination on the X-Factor. I think Ghost will big a breakthrough for her here in the US. She’s got pipes and is compared to Adele which is HUGE!

Little Mix – This group could be the next spice girls/One Direction.

    Dillon Francis

He’s been around for a while, but his debut album was just released this week, very pop radio friendly. I think he’s going to have a commercially massive year by the end of the next eligibility period.

Sadly my most favorite singer James Otto may not be eligible for this award anymore, but I would love to see him come back and officially break through because I am not sure if his last appearance on the radio would be considered an official break through. (shaking my head)

God bless you and him always!!!

    Holly

P.S. Here is his current radio history.

Ryn Weaver – Octahate kinda blew up for a little bit over the summer, Buzzfeed and others write about her all the time, so if she can get one big hit and/or get featured on somebody else’s track (maybe similar to Charli XCX) she can blow this up! Amazing and unique voice

    Chance the Rapper

He’s been on the grind for a couple years now releasing critically acclaimed mixtapes. His debut album, Surf, will drop sometime next year and I have a feeling he’s going to make major noise in the music industry.

I agree about Ryn Weaver…”Octahate” and “Promises” could be like Tove Lo’s “Habits” next year…she’s gonna blow up in 2015.

I agree with Ella Henderson other than that Jessie Ware perhaps?

Had to come back and comment on Ryn Weaver…I just discovered the “Promises” EP this week and I haven’t been able to stop listening. “OctaHate” is my jam. The comparison to “Habits” works, I kind of see it as an upbeat “Royals”/”Habits” combo, which is to say I love it. I need her full-length debut soon and I am hoping she breaks out extremely soon.

Backing up Ella Henderson. As a Brit myself she is doing so well here. Taking a two year break to build up her first album and now she is able to start going to America. I truly hope she gets the recognition she deserves.

I’m also going to come back and discuss Ella. With one recommendation in this thread proving to be true, I decided to try out Ella’s first US single, “Ghost,” which I really loved. I found the album, which is being released stateside next month, online and I’ve been listening through it and wow, it’s a phenomenal effort. She could really blow up big time in the US with this. What a wonderful, wonderful album. I’ll be listening for months to come.

Also will agree on George Ezra. For me had one of the best albums of 2014 with Wanted On Voyage and his voice is definitely up Grammy voter’s alley. Being so young as well, he has a while to crack America and get into the Grammys, but he truly deserves it.

George Ezra, Ella Henderson, Ryn Weaver. Those are my frontrunners for 2015 breakouts at the moment!
