I haven’t heard Linkin Park’s album. Not sure if that should be in the running for Rock Album or if Pop Vocal Album is more appropriate. I know the first single was very, very pop-oriented.

    Science Fiction, Brand New

These three and the last two I mentioned should all be competing in Alternative, I guess.
Also, sorry for the multiple posts.

    Linkin Park

i was not interested in listening to their last album, but from what i’ve read about it – it is more pop. also, i deliberately didn’t include them on the list as it was terribly reviewed by critics. and it matters now in this field.

Heavydirtysoul isn’t eligible for anything, by the way. Songs from older albums are only eligible for one eligibility period after the album was released.

The version from their EP with Mutemath is eligible, but not in Rock Song (I don’t think).

that’s why i included it & i did not separate rock song contenders from rock performance contenders 😉

same with Cage the Elephant’s Cold Cold Cold & Whole Wide World. i listed them as tracks from Unpeeled album (one is a cover, the other was a single from last year’s Grammy winner for Rock Album 🙂

    but thanks for being vigilant.

Mastodon’s “Emperor of Sand” for rock album and King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard’s “Flying Microtonal Banana” for alternative album.

Metallica’s “Atlas Rise” or “Spit out the bone” will be nominated for metal performance.

I really hope Tori Amos gets a nomination for “Native Invader”. Not sure she will though as she hasn’t been nominated in years.
