Charli XCX in Alternative?! This idea never occured to me, but now that I think about it she could actually have a tiny shot at making it in ála Lily Allen.

If Phillips album and song were submitted in this category instead of Pop, would you put him for a nomination ?

Some of those things make no fucking sense. Charli XCX is incredibly  synth/dance pop. The Weeknd is clearly R&B. Chvrches are electronic. Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes are folk/americana. Grouplove is very much pop.

    Predictions…

    BEST ALTERNATIVE MUSIC ALBUM
    Arctic Monkeys – AM
    Tame Impala – Lonerism
The National – Trouble Will Find Me
Vampire Weekend – Modern Vampires Of the City
    Volcano Choir – Repave

Entries in italics and blue are possible/unconfirmed submissions

Electronic albums have been submitted to Alternative in the past. While we are not sure about the guidelines for the Dance/Electronica Album. Any independently released “pop/rock” records can be considered as Alternative so that would explain Chrvches, Charli XCX and Grouplove’s submissions.

Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes were most likely submitted to Folk because they’ve been submitted there in the past.

The Weeknd’s submissions is rare but could probably been a mistake. I thought he was submitted to Urban Contemporary Album
