We’re into summer music season! Below is a list of some of the big contenders for song of the summer. I’m sure we’ll have some new ones pop up and some of these are already peaked or could fizzle, but with Post Malone’s album clearing out of the Hot 100, we can start to see what songs are actually making an impact.

I see potential in “I Like It” and “One Kiss” from the above.May 16, 2018 at 7:02 pm #1202548501
I Like It seems like the most logical contender. Most of those songs are either already fading away (Friends, Meant to Be, Plug Walk), have hitted their peak too soon before summer (Nice for What, Pyscho, Never Be The Same), or are not so “summerlike” (No Tears Left to Cry, Heaven, Whatever it Takes)May 17, 2018 at 12:54 am #1202548759
Honey, there is no song of the summer this year.May 17, 2018 at 3:47 am #1202548832

Yeah, “I Like It” definitely seems like the obvious choice, especially when they push it to radio and the video comes out.
It’s sounding like “Sangria Wine” will get a good push too from Camila and Pharrell. With a title like that, it has to be summer song worthy.May 17, 2018 at 9:43 pm #1202549378
The Backstreet Boys, “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart”
I can’t believe this shit. Wow.May 17, 2018 at 11:32 pm #1202549398
Quite possibly, “Ring the Alarm” by The Black Eyed Peas.

“Sangria Wine” is kind of disposable and repetitive…
It might catch on after the Billboard performance, but it sounds like a b-side.
It didn’t jump up the charts instantly like a lot of other pop songs, including even the Backstreet Boys.
What is going on with the BTS stuff though? The songs are selling like crazy, the streaming and album sales should be pretty big too. With the way charts are compiled now, their small, but insane fanbase can really make an impact for them.May 19, 2018 at 9:28 am #1202550019
Yea. That new BSB song is LIT. Who the hell would have thought one of the best tracks to kick off summer in 2018 would be these middle agers??? The video is really great too!May 19, 2018 at 1:25 pm #1202550125
I like it…
