And it’s BEYONCE!
This is a marked change of pace from the past couple of years of older veteran performers (like Tom Petty, Prince, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, The Rolling Stones, etc.) and more in line with the recent choice of The Black Eyed Peas. Lively choice. Can’t wait to see what she does with this.October 16, 2012 at 9:04 pm #384824
I hope she performs: Crazy In Love, Halo, Irreplaceable, Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It), & Run the World.October 16, 2012 at 9:37 pm #384825
I’m so glad that it’s her. She’s such a tremendous performer.October 16, 2012 at 10:06 pm #384826
Ugh. Bad choice. I hope she flops.October 17, 2012 at 6:35 am #384828
It’s not surprising they’d get another big female pop singer. Madonna’s show last year had higher ratings than the actual game.October 17, 2012 at 6:57 am #384829
This is pretty amazing! Although I’d have chosen a rock band (Green Day, The Black Keys, Soundgarden, Foo Fighters before their hiatus) or an unbar artist (wouldn’t it be amazing a performance by The Throne or Eminem) instead and not to have pop divas back to back (first Madonna, now her…)
Beyoncé is an established, respected, talented and very popular artist, so she’s a right choice still. I’d like her to make a dynamic setlist (like Madonna last year) including this songs:
-Crazy In Love (ft. Jay-Z)
-Love On Top
-Telephone (ft. Lady Gaga)/Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)
-New Song from her upcoming album
-Survivor (joined by Destiny’s Child)October 17, 2012 at 8:03 am #384830
if beyonce doesn’t use this platform to perform End of Time…..
i wonder though, does this mean we’ll be getting a new album at that time too hmmOctober 17, 2012 at 8:24 am #384831
I think this is a great choice. Most of her catalogue should play well to this arena crowd.October 17, 2012 at 11:06 am #384832
Hummnnn. I’m actually very glad that the Super Bowl is steering away from veteran acts like The who and the stones. But I’m wondering what songs are gonna fit the feel of the game. Because to be honest what men think Beyonce when they are watching ball?October 18, 2012 at 9:54 am #384833
Beyonce is a good choice for the Super Bowl Halftime show. She has the cataloge to pull it off, plus there is potential for some really awesome guest appearances.
As for the audience, remember that it’s more than just the average male football fan watching the superbowl. The entire country watches it, and many people tune in for the halftime show alone.October 23, 2012 at 7:53 am #384834
Beyonce is a good choice. She is an incredible entertainer and I’m sure she will put on a great performance.October 24, 2012 at 1:31 pm #384835
Countdwon to Touchdown, countdown to a huge, memorable comeback!October 26, 2012 at 8:40 pm #384837
Well once again I will not be watching the half-time show.
I would have gone in an entirely different direction.
i think they should have gotten some combonation of a country act (maybe somebody like Carrie Underwood or Lady Antebullum) and a rock group, somebody like Mumford & Sons… IDK, I just can’t stand Beyonce.
