To celebrate their 50th anniversary reunion and tour, the Beach Boys will be releasing That’s Why God Made the Radio, their first album of new material in over two decades featuring all of the band’s surviving original members. The album will be produced by Brian Wilson, and will be released June 5, 2012.
The title track was released as the lead single on April 25:
This album has the potential for an Album of the Year nomination. The Beach Boys are one of the most criminally snubbed artists of all time at the Grammys (much like Led Zeppelin were, and Robert Plant, although only a part of the group, swept the Grammys recently for his collaboration with Alison Krauss), and could finally get some recognition.
