So far she is scheduled to be a judge on “X-Factor” and has an upcoming album sometime next year. Shes going to be HUGE in the UK after this.

She was originally slated to be one of the judges on the US X Factor, but could not do it because she got pregnant.  Simon has always said she respects her a great deal and wanted her,but it just didn’t work out this season.  However, he has promised that she WILL be involved either as a guest judge or coach this season.

Anyway, she also announced she is collaborating with Justin Beiber (BARF!!!) on his new Xmas CD; they are doing a duet of “All I Want For Xmas Is You.”  Michael Buble is also covering the song on his upcoming album.

Apparently, she is hard at work on her new album.  I’ll be interested in seeing the direction she goes with it.

Daydream is my favorite Mariah Carey album.  When I Saw You, Long Ago and especially Melt Away would have made outstanding singles.  The dance remix of Fantasy is my favorite Mariah Carey dance remix.  Also the dance remix of Always Be My Baby is hot!

Daydream is my favorite Mariah album too.  I really liked “Always Be My Baby,” ” “Fantasy” (Remix),” “Forever,” “Melt Away,” “Open Arms” and “Underneath The Stars.”  The last one should’ve been a single.  After that album, she went down-hill.

“Daydream” is a great album that is still very listenable today.  However, I think “Butterfly” is her best album; the lyrics are deeper, the vocals are perfect.  I also tend to prefer “The Emancipation of Mimi” over “Daydream.”

“Daydream” is my favorite of hers as well, it may be a safe bread and butter collection of songs Whitney Houston would record but it’s still s clean listen from start to the end.
I’m in the minority who think “Emancipation” is overrated. The songs on there didn’t expand much besides heart break to sex. It didnt fit well either doing hip hop music with C level rappers & gospel all in one. I did like a lot the tracks though like the singles.
I just listened to “Emotions” for the first time since the 90’s, it really is a fantastic album with some of her best vocals.

This is a VERY personal rank, based on the impact these albums made on my life, mixed with my preferences as well.
    1. Butterfly – Most of my favorite Mariah songs are here – Gem after gem.
    2. Daydream – To me, no other woman in the business will ever reach the perfection that was “Daydream” in every level: vocals, melodies, hooks, chart success, passion…
    3. Music Box – will always have a special place for me: it was the first cassette I bought with my money.
    4. Merry Christmas
    5. The Emancipation Of Mimi
    6. E=MC2
    7. MTV Unplugged
    8. Rainbow
    9. Emotions
    10. Mariah Carey
    ….

I don’t want to rank neither “Charmbracelet” nor “Memoirs…” nor “Merry Christmas II” because I haven’t/don’t intend to listen to them. “Glitter” never happened.

Interesting soooo many, including Mimi herself, site Butterfiy as their favorite of hers. While it’s a great album, my favorite remains The Emancipation of Mimi, for more reasons that one. What a memorable time to be a fan of hers.
