In yesterday’s chart update, Little Mix were in the lead for the number one this week with new single Black Magic.

If they hold on at the top, it will be the band’s third number one single, following Cannonball (2011) and Wings (2012).

Elsewhere in the update, the only other brand new entry came from Sam Feldt & Kimberly Anne with Show Me Love at number 2. Some tracks are forecast to make there first appearance in the Top 40 this week though: Avicii – Waiting For Love at number 4, and at number 39 is The Chemical Brothers with Go.

This weeks chart starts from 4pm, but the new releases for next week were released at midnight. In the singles charts, the likes of 5 Seconds of Summer – She’s Kinda Hot, Calvin Harris & Disciples – How Deep Is Your Love, John Newman – Come & Get It, and Maverick Sabre – Walk Into The Sun will all be hoping to land in the Top 40 next week.

Great idea for a thread. The Uk charts was the first one I started following… I remember buying a bunch of UK music magazines as a kid learning English and that was my first exposure to any music charts.

Little Mix and Years & Years will probably stay at #01 for a second week.
I’m not usually a big fan of their songs, but I think Little Mix are pretty talented (and this new song is cute even if a bit generic). Pretty great start for Years & Years… I hope this is just the beginning for a great era.

Just updated on the first post is the full week by week list of the number 1 singles in the UK for 2015, as well as the total sales of each number 1 that week.

To note, in the UK, Chart Sales consist of purchases (both physically and via downloads), PLUS streams, on services including Spotify. 100 streams counts as 1 sale. A maximum of 10 streams per person is counted per week towards a sale for each individual song. I.e. if you stream one song 20 times in a week, it still only counts as 10 streams for the chart.

In today’s chart update, Years and Years are on course for a second week atop the album chart. But, they are only 2,000 copies ahead of the midweek number two album – Tame Impala’s latest release Currents.

Meanwhile, Nick Jonas is on course for a top ten finish with his self titled album at number 8. Also, Jason Isbell is just inside the top ten in the midweeks, with Something More Than Free at number 10. Just on the cusp of the top ten is last years X Factor third place act, Andrea Faustini, with his debut album Kelly sitting at number 11.

Super happy for Years & Years, hope they can break into the US charts and start getting really big. I’m also not a die hard fan of Little Mix but I remember watching them on the X Factor a few years ago and it’s good to see them doing well. Black Magic is one of those super cheesy pop songs but I like it anyway

I thought “King” had all the ingredients for a big worldwide hit… It’s a shame it wasn’t embraced in the US.

As for Little Mix, I could see “Black Magic” being the single that breaks them in America… I thinks this is the most “radio friendly” they ever sounded.

In the Singles Chart Midweek Update, Little Mix look set for a second week at number one with Black Magic. Former number one, Are You With Me by Lost Frequencies, is behind at number two, with Years & Years’ Shine completing the top 3.

John Newman is on course for the highest new entry this week with Come & Get It at number 4. 5 Seconds of Summer are at number 6 with their brand new track She’s Kinda Hot, and Calvin Harris will be hoping to claim his 19th Top 10 hit with How Deep Is Your Love, featuring Disciples, currently at number 8.
