I’m sorry, but I had to make a thread about this.

Is anyone else tired of the way our society treats celebrities? What bugs the hell out of me is, we treat some celebrities (mostly singers) like trash, but then when they die, we hail them as if they were just god-sent and they were everyone’s favorite singer, etc. We act like we have always loved them, and sometimes (actually most of the time) the memorial we have for them is much better than the way our media and society has ever treated them.

This has occured with people like Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Amy Winehouse, and now Mindy McCready. All fabulous musicians, who were treated like trash in the media for years before there unfortunate deaths, then we all hailed them and acted like we have always loved them after they passed.

Quite frankly, it makes me sick. Does anyone else feel this way or have any comments??

While I never cared for Amy Winehouse, I definitely agree your statement, especially in the case of Michael Jackson because I can recall all of the comments about how he was framed for the sexual allegations and then everyone started saying “I KNEW IT! HE WAS A GOOD MAN AFTER ALL!”….it is a shame really.
