Who’s the better entertainer (sales, popularity, etc.)?November 12, 2014 at 6:08 pm #403925
Say what you want about Chris Brown, I certainly have, but I think he’s more talented at least than Usher. Whereas Usher performed in one of my favourite rap songs ever “Yeah!”, his performance in “No Air” with Jordin Sparks was incredible and he definitely shows talent. Besides, Brown didn’t make Justin Bieber famous.November 12, 2014 at 6:37 pm #403926
Ha! Id disregard all that Usher had accomplished to get 2009-12 back when Justin Bieber was a pop artist.November 13, 2014 at 6:17 am #403927
Honey, this is like comparing filet mignon (Usher) to a hamburger (Chris Brown).
No shade, Usher paved the way for girls like Chris Brown.November 13, 2014 at 7:20 am #403928
I have to come really like Usher in the past few years. Chris Brown doesn’t even come close.November 13, 2014 at 7:30 am #403929
I have to admit that as generally gross as Chris Brown is he still kinda turns me on when he dances. He got those Channing stripper moves down pat. Other than that Usher by quite a distance.November 13, 2014 at 7:34 am #403930
I gonna go with Usher by a country mile.November 13, 2014 at 7:43 pm #403931
Funny that I didn’t really care for Usher in the height of his popularity, but his last album, “Looking For Myself”, was amazing. One of the best albums of the year. I loved “Good Kisser” and “She Came To Give It To You”, so I really love Usher now.
That being said, Chris Brown is very hit-and-miss. I know everyone bashed his album, “Graffiti” (which was released like 9 months after the Rihanna incident), but I loved it. His “Fortune” album was godawful, save the singles, but then his latest, “X” is pretty solid.
So yeah, no need to put them up against each other. Both are great R&B artists. I’m glad we are passed the point of these guys doing the EDM music and they are getting back to the R&B sound. It’s way better music.
Side note: I’m glad that John Legend never left the R&B sound (although he does have a song on David Guetta’s new album. I can’t wait to hear that, cause I doubt John went for a full EDM sound).
