Bad Blood seems staged to win. It’s not the best video from 1989 SIO and Blank Space were superior but they nominated Bad Blood so that a whole group of celebrities can get onstage. I mean both SIO and Blank Space will have a billion views in less than a year and both didn’t get nominated.

    Will Win: Tyalor, Bad Blood.

    Should Win: Bruno and Mark

While I don’t love the Bad Blood video it has a lot going for it: Celebs, Kendrick Lamar, Taylor, and great direction. Kinda hard to beat.

    Should Win: Kendrick Lamar, “Alright”

Will Win: Taylor Swift featuring Kendrick Lamar, “Bad Blood” (the video sucks. but her minions will push it to a unwarranted victory)

“Alright” is the class and best video of this lineup, even if it isn’t one of Kendrick Lamar’s best songs. I’d pick that to win in a heartbeat. I’m puzzled how Beyoncé made it in here other than the power of Queen Bee. Love the song, but the video is marginal at best. Ed Sheeran would have made a better nominee for “Don’t” where some exciting ideas and direction are going on there. “Thinking Out Loud” is basically ballroom dancing lite, though it was the far bigger hit for him. If “Uptown Funk!” wins, then this is the beginning of its inevitable Grammy run that’s soon to come. That will happen regardless of this win, but it makes it that much more a reality. “Bad Blood” gets its day in the sun as Taylor Swift’s “moment” to finally win VOTY. The video is a hacky Joseph Kahn CGI wankfest (his style of video directing for many, many years now), but it’ll be one of those big MTV moments that the telecast lives for. The best video of the year, “Never Catch Me,” is nowhere to be found, or the two direction nominees that didn’t repeat here (Hozier’s “Take Me to Church” & Childish Gambino’s “Sober”), so whatever to this category.

WILL WIN: Taylor Swift featuring Kendrick Lamar, “Bad Blood”
    SHOULD WIN: Kendrick Lamar, “Alright”
SNUBBED: Flying Lotus featuring Kendrick Lamar, “Never Catch Me”; Hozier, “Take Me to Church”; Sia, “Elastic Heart”

This will be my reaction if I see Taylor Swift win Video of the Year at this year’s VMAs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4IRKk14ptE

I would vote for “Alright” for sure. Given the rest of the awards, “Uptown Funk” would make a fine Video of the Year.

I love the Angelina Jolie at the Golden Globes nomination desperation the VMAs have to make sure Beyonce comes, which she probably won’t.

I’ll try this again since my posts were deleted for no good reason, and the damn VMA’s are a week away.

Any final predictions, votes, or thoughts for this category?

This is the weakest set of VMA nominees in recent years. Kendrick should win because it’s a phenomenal video. Everything else…. a big fat “MEH!” Especially Taylor and Bey. We’ve all seen much better from the Queen.

Expecting Uptown Funk to upset and win the award, just to see Taylor’s reaction and her swifties go crazy on twitter, she is totally promoting the video on instagram and twitter, she really wants to win. Kendrick has the best video by far and I think it’s the frontrunner for Music Video at the grammys.
