They seem to cycle in and out of pop culture. New Kids on the Block, then about a decade later the teen revolution of Britney, Christina, ‘N Sync, and the Backstreet Boys. These days it’s One Direction and Justin Bieber.

Of course it’s not a new phenomenon. Teen idols go back to David Cassidy and way back further to the likes of Elvis. (For the purposes of discussion I’m including actually teens as well as early 20-somethings who appealed to teens). Which generation has had the best, and which has had the worst?

I cant say about the ‘best’, since I am so biased. But, how would you like to have Frank Sinatra as a ‘teen’ idol??

Justin Bieber and One Direction aren’t teens.

The late 90’s/early 2000’s were cute.  Christina Aguilera was slaying the girls!

Britney is the ultimate teen idol. She overshadowed every other boy/girl groups and singers at the time and has had the biggest career since.

I’m biased towards the 90’s since that is when I grew up, but I’m thinking that the 60’s probably wins this one.

^^^ I second this if you are saying that the 60’s is the best because someone I recently discovered released his first album in 1965, may the beautiful and precious Billy Joe Royal be with the Lord now.

God bless you and his family always!!!

    Holly

P.S. I heard a fair deal of his material when I was a kid, but sadly
it took his going forward last month to make me realize who I missed out
on all of this time and I couldn’t be anymore ashamed of it, to me the
beautiful precious couldn’t have sounded any more awesome. (trying not
    to cry again)

Go here to check out my most favorite singer James Otto!
