I think we can all agree this belongs in the Music forum.

Here are links to the performances.

    Adele: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23eI14Y3Ae0

Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars: http://ellentube.com/videos/0-ulopaqee/

    Annie Lennox: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBSPai9EhjM

    Rachel Platten: https://gma.yahoo.com/video/rachel-platten-performs-her-hit-141553266.html

    Jeff Lynne’s ELO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhQKkHgvYjc

Pretty sure Adele has this in the bag. If she wins this (which she probably will), all that’s left is the Tony for her to get the EGOT.

The link above for Rachel Platten is a repeat of the Annie Lennox link. Here is the correct link

The link above for Bruno Mars is a repeat of the Adele link. Here is the correct link

Watching the clips makes for some strong entertainment. I hope the voters do. It makes the choice more challenging.

Platten is out. GMA overproduced the number intermingling children with cancer singing the fight song with the cheerleaders from the New York Rangers who fight for their team while Platten is posturing in a crop top. It is not a winning submission.

With “Turn to Stone,” Jeff Lynne’s ELO provides an entertaining ’80s throwback that generates instant nostalgia, but that is not enough for the win.

Adele is a class act. Accompanied by two masterful guitarists, she creates a lovely moment in the studio with a performance of “Million Years Ago” that is deeply moving and heartfelt.

Annie Lennox is a national treasure. She transforms the audience of The Talk with her rendition of “I Put a Spell on You” from the film 50 Shades of Grey. The song is delivered with verve and rousing joy that makes it hard to sit still.

Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson provide a truly energetic rendition of “Uptown Funk.” Using the entire audience to sing backup, Ellen Degeneres as the dancing, objectified female, and Bruno Mars in full James Brown-mode, the performance is a terrific production.

I understand that Adele seems the name check winner. However, after watching the nominees, Adele, Lennox and Mars each give phenomenal performances deserving of recognition.

Thanks for the heads up, On the Aisle. Just fixed the links.

My problem with the Bruno Mars/Mark Ronson performance is that the chorus is lipsynched.

My problem with the Bruno Mars/Mark Ronson performance is that the chorus is lipsynched.

I am not very good at recognizing that.

Clearly the studio audience is providing the Hot Damns and Hallelujahs. Bruno Mars changes the lyric while dancing with Ellen D. The audience is on its feet and screaming at the end of the number. I can’t figure out where the lipsynch is.

It would seem Adele is the most likely choice, but Annie Lennox could win too given her stature as a legendary artist who is very well respected.

The whole “This hit, that ice cold…” part at the beginning is being lipsynched or at the very least heavily backed by playback.

Rachel Platten’s victory over Adele and Annie Lennox is a stunner. She was the weakest link when you review the nominees. Can anyone explain this?

After watching Rachel Platten performance, it’s pretty obvious why she won, people, this is not the grammys, this is not Best Pop Solo Performance, I think it won because of its message, the sad montage and the people outside the studio dancing to the song, the whole presentation. Go watch the performance again and realise what the emmy are awarding.

Yeah she deserved that win. But this is GoldDerby, Adele has to win everything apparently.

BenitoDelicias, quit it. My reaction was: she was the least deserving. All the other four nominees did better. However, Rinolo is right, they weren’t voting on the singing or the band, or even the songs, but on the editing and production of the performance, which one created the most “emotional” moment etc.
