Can Adele’s new album “25” rock the world the same way “21” did in 2011? Tonight at midnight Adele will release her first single in nearly three years.
Will “Hello” be able to match the success of “Rolling In The Deep”?
Will “25” outsell everything in it wake?
Will Adele be the only artist worth mentioning for next years Grammys?October 22, 2015 at 9:43 am #413419
Doubtful anything will match that level of across the board success but it should be successful no matter what. 21 just hit at the right time and whenever it looked like it was about to fade she’d do a major performance (“Someone Like You” at the VMAs) or enter the news via Grammy nominations or something that spurred sales further. I’m excited to hear it but managing expectations.October 22, 2015 at 9:45 am #413420
Do you mean having another diamond album with three #1 singles and seven Grammys? No, and why would anyone expect a replica of that success when it was a shocker for that time period?
What does play in her favor right now is that there aren’t many superstars right now on the charts. Taylor is about to end her era and everything else is viral sensations, Disney girls and one-hit wonders. I think Columbia/XL will try to make this era as successful as possible but not try to reach 21’s massive success. If it does happen, then well…October 22, 2015 at 9:52 am #413421
Will Hello be as big as Rolling In The Deep?
Well, Hello has much more buzz around it, so will get higher total sales in the first week compared to Deep. But Deep gained momentum, so had a slower burn to success, which may have given it bigger sales in the long run.
Will 25 outsell everything in its wake?
This week? Hell yes! 2015 as a whole? Pretty much! Biggest release since 1989 I’d say at least.
Will Adele by the only artist worth mentioning?
Literally speaking, no. Rihanna will hopefully be impressive with her new material too. Figuratively speaking, yes. The entire album would have to flop big time for it to be ignored. The sheer buzz around this album shows how unlikely that is to happen.October 22, 2015 at 12:07 pm #413422
Yes , 25 will sell at least 6M in US and over 12M world wide . She’s about to make Taylor’s year look like it never happened lol !October 22, 2015 at 12:08 pm #413423
I can see Adele easily going diamond again. She’s been gone so long that people are anticipating her return. Music is in the dumps. Adele is like a breath of fresh air.October 22, 2015 at 12:11 pm #413424
“Easily”? Streaming exists, for one.October 22, 2015 at 12:18 pm #413425
The state of music in January 2011 is very different from the state of music in November 2015. That being said, 25 and “Hello” will be very successful and the timing is just perfect (masterful timing by Adele’s team) for the holiday season.October 22, 2015 at 12:26 pm #413426
Adele appeals to a record buying demographic. When the 25 era runs its course, Adele can easily sell 10 million copies.October 22, 2015 at 12:41 pm #413428

Worldwide, maybe. 25 will be on streaming sites, so that will affect its physical sales, which makes me believe that the label isn’t aiming for 21-level sales. I can’t wait to see what type of damage she does on Spotify and other streaming sites.October 22, 2015 at 1:44 pm #413429
Well it will easily be much better and sell more than 1989. I’m just putting out there. Thank the Lord she has come back. I was getting tired of Swift. Will it be more successful than 21? Anything is possible, but I expect the whole thing to be similar to the Thriller/Bad debate. When Bad by MJ was about to be released, the media had all these articles saying whether he can do it again or even sell more than Thriller. He ultimately didn’t but the album was successful nonetheless so I believe she’ll have great success with 25, but I don’t think she’ll pass 21. If the album is better than 21 then I hope it’s more successful than the previous album. I know for a fact that her new album will go Diamond. 2016 is going to be an interesting year. Sam Smith going to have a new album so I can’t wait to compare the two. I say that became if Adele was a man she would be Sam Smith and if Sam Smith was a woman he would be Adele.October 22, 2015 at 1:55 pm #413430
Album sales are not all that different from 2011 to now. There were people who did not think 21 would go diamond. I can see 25 going diamond like 2-3 years after its release by being a steady seller. 25 will sell more than 1989.October 22, 2015 at 1:58 pm #413431
The first week sales are gonna be HUGE, but I don’t know if she can go Diamond again. I do think it is possible though. I can’t wait to hear the song tomorrow!October 22, 2015 at 3:24 pm #413432

You do know only 2 albums have sold one million copies in 2015 right?
