… and can it WIN? pls pipe in! Whatcha thank?
I think it very well can. The song is controversial enough to gain alot of momentum. Some people are saying the song is just flat out horrible, but I actually like it. It faces a controversial subject head on, and I think that is why it’s controversial, because very rarely do songs deal with such a subject head-on.
I would LIKE to see it nominated for Song of the Year. What I don’t know is what genre will it be submitted to? Will it be submitted to Country Duo/Group Performance, or to Rap/Sung collaboration? And if it is submitted to Rap/Sung collaboration, can it also be submitted to Country Song??
Controversy needs to be bigger for it to start taking off and being in the public eye, It’s gonna be hard, right now I’d say: no grammy noms.
I’d think so. Personally, I’m not a fan of it but I know a lot of people who like it.
I honestly thought that it was just some weird joke.
Not only is it just plain bad, it’s so mind-numbingly idiotic and misguided that it probably will get a Grammy nomination or two in the country field.
I doubt it. I think it’s a fantastic song though. Listening to it, I don’t really understand what the controversy is about the song. Cause it calls out people in the south for being racist? This is news?
