    Album of the Year
Will Win: Daft Punk, Random Access Memories
Should Win: Kendrick Lamar, good kid, m.A.A.d. city

    Record of the Year
Will Win: Daft Punk featuring Pharrell – Get Lucky
Should Win: Daft Punk featuring Pharrell – Get Lucky

    Song of the Year
    Will Win: Lorde – Royals
    Should Win: Lorde – Royals
(The win will likely be between “Royals” and “Same Love”, but I think the BNA snub will push Lorde over the edge here)

    Best New Artist
Will Win: Macklemore and Ryan Lewis
    Should Win: James Blake
(I think this is the most wide open of the GF categories – any of the five have a legitimate shot)

    Pop Solo Performance
Will Win: Justin Timberlake – Mirrors
Should Win: Justin Timberlake – Mirrors

    Pop Duo/Group Performance
Will Win: Daft Punk featuring Pharrell – Get Lucky
Should Win: Daft Punk featuring Pharrell – Get Lucky
(Another category where anyone has a shot – I could see “Just Give Me a Reason” or “Suit and Tie” winning)

    Pop Vocal Album
Will Win: Justin Timberlake, The 20/20 Experience
    Should Win: Lorde, Pure Heroine

    Dance Recording
Will Win: Calvin Harris featuring Florence Welch – Sweet Nothing
Should Win: Duke Dumont featuring AME and MNEK – Need U (100%)

    Dance/Electronica Album
Will Win: Daft Punk, Random Access Memories
    Should Win: Disclosure, Settle

    Rock Performance
Will Win: David Bowie – The Stars (Are Out Tonight)
Should Win: David Bowie – The Starts (Are Out Tonight)
(“Radioactive” could sneak in here, but I have a feeling the Rock voting block will keep it old school with a Bowie or Zeppelin win)

    Rock Song
Will Win: Dave Grohl, Paul McCartney, Krist Novoselic, and Pat Smear – Cut Me Some Slack
Should Win: Gary Clark Jr. – Ain’t Messin Round

    Rock Album
Will Win: Led Zeppelin, Celebration Day
Should Win: David Bowie, The Next Day

    Alternative Music Album
Will Win: Vampire Weekend, Modern Vampires of the City
Should Win: Vampire Weekend, Modern Vampires of the City

    Rap Performance
Will Win: Macklemore and Ryan Lewis featuring Wanz – Thrift Shop
Should Win: Kendrick Lamar – Swimming Pools (Drank)
(I have a weird feeling that “Tom Ford” could sneak in for the win as well)

    Rap/Sung Collaboration
Will Win: Jay-Z featuring Justin Timberlake – Holy Grail
Should Win: J Cole featuring Miguel – Power Trip

    Rap Song
Will Win: Kanye West – New Slaves
Should Win: Kanye West – New Slaves

    Rap Album
Will Win: Kendrick Lamar, good kid, m.A.A.d. city

    R&B Performance
Will Win: Miguel featuring Kendrick Lamar – How Many Drinks?

Should Win: John Legend, Love in the Future

    Urban Contemporary Album
    Will Win: Rihanna, Unapologetic
    Should Win: Rihanna, Unapologetic

    Country Solo Performance
Will Win: Miranda Lambert – Mama’s Broken Heart
Should Win: Miranda Lambert – Mama’s Broken Heart
(Lee Brice could sneak in for the win as well over Lambert)

    Country Duo/Group Performance
Will Win: Tim McGraw featuring Taylor Swift and Keith Urban – Highway Don’t Care
Should Win: Tim McGraw featuring Taylor Swift and Keith Urban – Highway Don’t Care

    Country Song
Will Win: Kacey Musgraves – Merry Go Round
Should Win: Kacey Musgraves – Mama’s Broken Heart
(A fairly wide open category – Taylor Swift, Lee Brice, and the two Musgraves songs all have a shot)

    Country Album
Will Win: Kacey Musgraves, Same Trailer, Different Park
Should Win: Kacey Musgraves, Same Trailer, Different Park
(Close call between Musgraves and Swift, but I’m thinking the country block will stick with the more traditionally country album of the two and give it to Musgraves)

    Music Video
Will Win: Justin Timberlake featuring Jay-Z – Suit and Tie
Should Win: Justin Timberlake featuring Jay-Z – Suit and Tie

    General Field

    Album
    of the Year

    Will
Win/Should Win: Random Access Memories-Daft Punk

    Spoiler:
    good k.i.d.d., m.A.A.d city-Kendrick Lamar

    (either
of these choices would be fine, even The Heist due to two indie guys doing
    everything themselves)

    Record
    of the Year

    Will
Win/Should Win: Locked Out of Heaven-Bruno Mars (very old at this point,
however, it is a catchy song and his best song IMO)

    Spoiler:
Get Lucky-Daft Punk & Pharrell (since Pharrell is on this song and Blurred
Lines, it could cause split voting, if LOOH doesn’t win)

    Song
    of the Year

    Will
Win: Royals-Lorde (give them street cred-she would be youngest to win here, if
    I am correct)

    Should
Win: Same Love-Macklemore & Ryan Lewis ft. Mary Lambert (might turn off
some conservative voters since it is a controversial topic, however, this is
    the message award)

    Spoiler:
Just Give Me a Reason-Pink & Nate Ruess (still happy over Pink’s first
general field nomination, with that being said, Ruess won here last year as a
member of fun., plus voters love giving this award to ballads)

    Best
    New Artist

    Will
Win: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (I really like them and their journey by being
independent, however, I am less convinced that they will win at this point.
Reminds me of the 1992 Grammys where both Arrested Development and Kris Kross
where the last group of hip hop artists to be nominated in this category the
same year. Both had commercial success, however, Arrested Development on top of
the commercial success had critical success which gave them more of an edge and
as a result gave them the Grammy. To make long story short, I have a feeling the Arrested Development situation
    could benefit Kendrick)

    Should
Win: Kacey Musgraves (country artists tend do well overall than some of their
peers in other genres, whether they win or not, they tend to have longevity)

    Spoiler:
James Blake (his only nomination without being nominated in his
genre, it has helped the likes of Milli Vanilli (we all know what happened
after that), Shelby Lynne and recently, Esperanza Spalding who were only
nominated here, the year they won this award without nominations in their
    respective genres)

    Pop

    Pop Solo Performance

    Will Win: Royals-Lorde (it
is peaking at the right time and based on the last couple of winners, i.e.
Adele, I don’t think they want to break their pattern of having a female win in
this category despite the addition of two male nominees)

    Should Win: Mirrors-Justin
Timberlake (prior to the category changes, he won twice in Male Pop and maybe
third time will be a charm. If he ends up winning, this will be the third year
in a row that the song was not nominated in the general field)

    Spoiler: Roar-Katy Perry
(long shot-after consecutive nominations, voters might be tempted to award her due
    to pity)

    Pop Duo/Group Performance

    Will Win/Should Win: Just
Give Me a Reason-Pink & Nate Ruess (I agree with a poster earlier who
mentioned male/female collaborations tend do well here and I noticed since this
category was renamed that the two past winners were male and female collaborations,
so third time might be a charm)

    Spoiler: Suit &
    Tie-Justin Timberlake & Jay-Z (they couldn’t nominate it Rap/Sung? I don’t
understand how some of these crossover songs along with Get Lucky and Blurred
    Lines were placed in pop)

    Pop Vocal Album

    Will Win/Should Win:
Justin Timberlake-The 20/20 Experience: The Complete Experience (despite a few
flaws, I like both pieces and if he ends winning, he would be the second artist
like last year’s winner, Kelly Clarkson to win twice in this category)

    Spoiler: Unorthodox
Jukebox-Bruno Mars (great improvement over Doo Wops, it shows his growth as an
artist and would also be happy if Bruno won)

    Traditional Pop Album:

    Will Win/Should Win: To Be
    Loved-Michael Buble

    Spoiler: Now-Dionne
    Warwick

    Dance Recording

    Will Win/Should Win: Sweet
    Nothing-Calvin Harris & Florence Welch

    Spoiler: Need U-Duke
    Dumont

    Dance/Electronica Album

    Will Win/Should Win:
    Random Access Memories-Daft Punk

    Spoiler:
    Atmosphere-Kaskade

    Rock/Alternative

    Rock Performance

    Will Win/Should Win: The
Stars (Are Out Tonight)-David Bowie (comeback factor, toss up between him and
Zeppelin since traditional rock voters will be going back and forth. Radioactive
is the biggest hit here, however, I don’t see it winning)

    Rock Song:

    Will Win: Cut Me Some
Slack-Paul McCartney & Nirvana (McCartney + recent rock roll hall of
    famers= Grammy gold)

    Should Win: Ain’t Messin
    Round-Gary Clark Jr.

    Rock Album:

    Will Win: Celebration
Day-Led Zeppelin (once again toss up between Zeppelin and Bowie)

    Should Win: The Next
    Day-David Bowie

    Spoiler: …Like Clockwork- Queens
    of the Stone Age

    Alternative Music Album

    Will Win: Modern Vampires
    of the City-Vampire Weekend

    Should Win: Hesitation Marks-Nine
Inch Nails (would not count them out and this is their third nomination-they
    have the veteran spot)

    Spoiler: The Worst Things
Get-Neko Case (being the only female nominee benefits her since it makes her
standout,, this category is not friendly towards women and it hurts her chances
    as well)

    Metal Performance: Enough said-this
    is the Black Sabbath award

    Rap

    Rap Performance

    Will Win: Thrift
Shop-Macklemore and Ryan Lewis (this will be one of the awards they receive)

    Should Win: Swimming Pools
(Drank)-Kendrick Lamar (I would be fine with either Kendrick or Macklemore
winning here because this category is predictable with their winners, it would
be a nice change of pace)

    Spoiler: Tom Ford-Jay-Z (he
is beloved in this category, it won’t be too much of a stretch)

    Rap/Sung Collaboration

    Will Win: Holy Grail-Jay-Z
& Justin Timberlake (I think they are at a lock at this point)

    Should Win: Power Trip-J.
Cole & Miguel (disappointed Born Sinner was not nominated for Rap Album,
however, this nomination here makes up for it. It features a recent Grammy
winner, I am hoping they pull an upset)

    Spoiler: Now or
    Never-Kendrick Lamar & Mary J. Blige

    Rap Song

    Will Win/Should Win: Thrift
Shop-Macklemore and Ryan Lewis (catchy, light-hearted song, alternative of
    current hip hop)

    Spoiler: Problems-ASAP
Rocky (this is the same category that awarded Paris, anything can happen)

    Rap Album

    Will Win/Should Win: good
k.i.d.d., m.A.A.d city-Kendrick Lamar (at first, I thought The Heist would be a
lock here, now that the awards are so soon, my gut is going with Kendrick and
hoping he really pulls this off)

    Spoiler (any of the
nominees, this will be the closest race in years)

    R&B

    R&B Performance

    Will Win/Should Win:
Miguel & Kendrick Lamar-How Many Drinks? (I thought Adorn would win here
last year, however, they checked off the biggest name which was Usher. Now,
that Miguel has won a Grammy and become more known, voters will check them off
    immediately)

    Spoiler: Nakamarra-Hiatus
Kiayote & Q-Tip (very quirky and groovy song, it is great that voters are
    recognizing some hidden gems)

    Traditional R&B
    Performance

    Will Win: Please Come
Home-Gary Clark Jr. (at first I thought Fantasia would win based on name
recognition, however, the R&B and Rock nominations are impressive and it helps
his chances and shows that he has versatility)

    Should Win: Get It
Right-Fantasia (based on name recognition, voters will check off her name and
    it showing her growth)

    R&B Song

    Will Win: Love and
War-Tamar Braxton (I think this will be her only win, it is a good song and she
has a nice voice, would not count out Pusher Love Girl)

    Should Win: Pusher Love
Girl-Justin Timberlake (impressed that he managed to be nominated in three
different categories: here in R&B, Rap and Pop with that being said, the
same thing mentioned earlier, he has name recognition and could bode well in
    his case)

    Spoiler: Without
    Me-Fantasia

    R&B Album

    Will Win: Girl On
    Fire-Alicia Keys

    Should Win: Love In The
    Future-John Legend

    Spoiler: R&B
    Divas-Faith Evans

    Country

    Country Solo Performance:

    Will Win: Mama’s Broken
Heart-Miranda Lambert (only female nominated in this category, it could help
her case since renaming the category, the past two winners have been female,
toss up between Wagon Wheel and Mine Would Be You since Blake has been nominated
    multiple times)

    Should Win: Wagon
    Wheel-Darius Rucker (nice cover)

    Spoiler: I Drive Your
    Truck-Lee Brice

    Country Duo/Group
    Performance

    Will Win: Highway Don’t
Care-Tim McGraw, Taylor Swift & Keith Urban

    Should Win: You Can’t Make
Old Friends-Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton (would not count out the veterans)

    Spoiler: Don’t Rush-Kelly
    Clarkson & Vince Gill

    Country Song:

    Will Win/Should Win: Merry
Go Round-Kacey Musgraves (also nominated for Mama’s Broken Heart, it helps that
she is nominated twice and as a result, causes vote splitting)

    Spoiler: I Drive Your
Truck-Lee Brice (moving and sad song, I think it would strike an emotional
chord with voters since they often gravitate towards these songs)

    Country Album:

    Will Win: Red-Taylor Swift
(best selling album of this lineup which helps, the mixing of other genres
might turn some country voters off who might gravitate towards a more
    traditional country sound)

    Should Win: Same Trailer,
Different Park-Kacey Musgraves (she discusses themes that are controversial to
some of the voters, however, it would be great to see her be rewarded here
since she is bringing a fresh perspective to the genre)

    Spoiler: Based on a True
Story-Blake Shelton (being nominated multiple times, voters might feel that
this would be time to award him)

    Music Video

    Will Win/Should Win:
    Justin Timberlake & Jay-Z (Timberlake + Jay-Z + Fincher=winning
    combination)
