I’m just trying to jog my memory of the Worst Songs of 2011 for my list for my website, and hoping you can help. Our Hot 100 thread only starts in late September so that isn’t gonna help me…

so far I’ve thought of “It Will Rain” (sorry Bruno), “Judas”, Justin Bieber’s “Drummer Boy”, Timbaland’s new track, Lance Bass’ new boy band, and something from Lil Wayne’s godawful album (save “How To Love”).

    Let’s see:

Look at the US iTunes top 100 and Billboard Hot 100, and you’ll have yourself the worst songs of 2011. What’s nice about it is that they’re organized for your viewing convenience.

To be more specific: All releases by LMFAO, all releases by Bruno Mars, “Move Like Jagger”, Releases by Lady Antebellum, Anything released by Taylor Swift (sue me), and other various novelty rap and pop acts.

“Never Say Never” by Justin Bieber – if anything Justin’s music has been pop-friendly and catchy.  This song is not even that.

“S&M (Remix)” by Rihanna feat. Britney Spears – Britney deflates any kind of life this song had with her limp contribution.

“Judas” by Lady Gaga – this is a perfect example for LG trying too hard and getting caught; unfortunately, unlike Madonna’s “Like A Prayer”, this song is almost unsingable because of its silly lyrics; otherwise, it’s a perfectly fine pop number.

I feel like a lot of the songs being listed here are just “awsomely bad”, but not all particularly bad songs. I mean, many of us could be found rocking out to these at a stop light, or banging these in a club. Are people listing songs that they don’t like? Or songs that we love but are just “bad songs”? Because I love the song “We R Who We R”, but I know that it’s a god-awful song.
