Which of the two films deserves the credit? Wings has it now, but I’ve always favored Sunrise. Wings is a great film as well, but lacks Sunrise’s depth.
Isn’t Wings lost? I know I’ve never seen it.. I do love Sunrise though, so I have no problem throwing it a vote.
Sunrise is one of the greatest silent films ever.
When you think about their definitions of those two production categories, it seems like the one with integrity is the artistic quality of production…they should have kept that category. In any event When considering the history of the best picture winners I don’t consider this category or SUNRISE any less in importance than the surviving category and WINGS.
WINGS is not lost, SUNRISE is the better film.
