I chose Heath Ledger for The Dark Knight.

Christoph Waltz in Inglourious Basterds. The greatest screen performance of all time in my opinion

Ledger is fine, but his performance really was not that good.

    Waltz in IB, by far.

Read the screenplay for Dark Knight and you’ll see that everything great about the character came from Ledger.  Though Waltz in IB’s probably my second choice.

    1.) Christoph Waltz (TIE!)
    2.) Heath Ledger
    3.) Christopher Plummer
    4.) Javier Bardem
    5.) Christian Bale
    6.) Morgan Freeman

The rest of the winnners are horrid. Most especially Clooney and Arkin.

1- Javier Bardem (One of the best peformances of any decade ever!!)

    2) Heath Ledger
    3) Tim Robbins
    4) Alan Arkin (To many he phoned it in, but not to me at all)
    5) Christian Bale
    6) Morgan Freeman
    ————————

I truly detest the other winners. With special highlight on Clooney and maybe the most OVERRATED actor of the last 5 years….Christoph Waltz in both of his so called “incredible” performances.

I’ve never understood the praise for Ledger in TDK.

He just plays The Joker the same as everyone else plays The Joker. I don’t see how he’s any different to Jack Nicholson or even Cesar Romero.

I’d say Ledger, then Bardem, then the two Waltz wins, Bale and Plummer. The others all rank about the same.
