Wiest & Dench are neck and neck for me…I went with Wiest

    Harden, Paquin next in line
    Sorvino
    Binoche
then everybody else except Zeta-Jones who is dead last…

Sorvino-Basinger-Binoche-Dench must be one of the worst streaks in acting categories, ever!

Zeta-Jones, then Wiest, Jolie, Gay Harden and Paquin.

Yes, some of these wins are downright awful, but I think Juliette Binoche was a great win.  She was the heart of The English Patient, and her acting was so effortless and inhabited it could only have been done by a European. Wonderful performance.

And Catherine Zeta-Jones was incredible in Chicago.  She blazed across the screen and brought so much life and fire and charisma to that film, which perfectly fit the exciting editing and at times gorgeous photography.  I rewatched Chicago recently–it’s been on Showtime for the past few weeks–and her songs, for me, were the highlight of the movie.  That finale, she completely blows away Renee Zellweger.  A great example of an Oscar going to someone at their career peak for the perfect role, my vote here.

Sorvino, Jolie, Basinger, Zeta-Jones, and Connelly should all give their Oscars back.
Though anywas Wiest, Paquin, and Harden are undeniably the best!
