    Tilda Swinton was amazing in that movie but that was a hard year. Meryl vs Viola vs Rooney vs Glenn vs Michelle. I guess I would have taken Glenn or Michelle out for Tilda

    She missed it because it was an unlikeable character in an odd, not-easily-accessible film. See: Dennis Hopper, Blue Velvet; Laura Dern, Inland Empire. The last instance of this type of character in this type of narrative getting recognized was Diane Ladd in Wild at Heart (1990)

    I’m gonna go with Pam Grier in Jackie Brown, but I should confess that the only other film I’ve seen is The River Wild.
