Darwell- for my money, the single most deserving winner this category has ever had.

Close call…Darwell & McCambridge.  I’ll go with McCambridge since she was my choice that year.  Anderson was my choice for 1940.  Agnes Moorehead should be in here twice for 1942 & 1948!!!  Although 1948 was a tough one with Trevor & Simmons in the mix.

    1. McCambridge
    2. Darwell
    3. Trevor
    4. Astor
    5. Paxinou
    6. Barrymore
    7. Revere
    8. Wright
    9. Holm
    10. Baxter

Trevor easily, although it’s been many years since I’ve seen Darwell. I don’t see what’s great about McCambridge at all.

Best Supporting performance of the decade though was Patricia Collinge in ‘The Little Foxes’.

Wright’s win is such an obvious make up for not winning in the lead category. Absolutely shocking that she beat Moorehead and Cooper for their legendary perfs.
