Hard to rank these greats!  Had Billy Wilder been an option (I chose him for the 50’s poll) he would have likely ranked 2nd (almost entirely on the strength of Double Indemnity, but 5 Graves To Cairo and Forreign Affair helping too…)

    1. Huston
    2. Wyler
    3. Welles
    4. Hawks
    5. Hitchcock
    6. Lean
    7. Ford
    8. Curtiz
    9. Siodmak
