Throughout the history of the Emmy awards, there have been many people that have been nominated for playing former Presidents, Vice Presidents, or First Lady’s, or nominees of such. But only 3 have prevailed and won (Julianne Moore, Laura Linney, Paul Giamatti). Who do you think gave the best performance?

Note: I could not include some names, such as Barry Pepper, because they did not play people who were presidents or vice presidents or first ladies, or nominees of such.

Well technically speaking, if you exclude Barry Pepper playing Robert Kennedy you’d have to exclude Julianne Moore, too. Palin was only a vice-presidential candidate right?

^ She was NOMINEE for VP. Therefore, she is eligible. Robert Kennedy never made it far enough to become the Democratic Nominee

Laura Linney. I kinda loved John Adams, but I am a massive geek when it comes to US History. Her character was the birth of American feminism and thought she was elegant and heartfelt.

Giamatti in response to what you have in mind, but Martin Sheen in response to what your thread title actually says.

But then, why is Ed Harris as John McCain not on this list?

That’s not what your title suggests.
