I voted for Brokeback Mountain, but I would have liked to see Boys Don’t Cry and Monster on the list.November 29, 2012 at 12:05 pm #541119
A lesbian-themed list must be in order.. I went on my VERY FIRST gay date to see Get Real with what turned out to be my very first boyfriend. It could be nostalgia but its getting my vote.November 29, 2012 at 1:51 pm #541120
I haven’t seen many of them but recently I saw Danish “Brotherhood” (original title: “Broderskab”) from 2009, directed by Nicolo Donato and it has impressed me more than “Brokeback Mountain”. Highly recommended if you’re interested in gay-themed film or good film or both!November 29, 2012 at 2:10 pm #541121

I noticed Keep The Lights On received some Spirit Award nominations the other day and was wondering if anyone has seen it yet?November 30, 2012 at 11:56 am #541124
Weekend is my favorite film from last year – none of the others rise to that level for me, though I like most on the list.November 30, 2012 at 1:02 pm #541125
I voted for BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN because of Heath Ledger’s fearless performance (which should have won the Oscar), but otherwise I would have voted for WEEKEND, one of the best movies and a personal favorite of 2011.November 30, 2012 at 4:07 pm #541126

I saw it at the Milwaukee, WI LGBT film festival. Beautiful film. While I loved Weekend, Keep the Lights On was a much more fulfilling film. Great performances, great sex scenes (much hotter than Weekend could ever have been) and a beautifully touching story. Milk is #2 for me and BM #3.
