    I voted Portman, cause even though Blanchett is pure perfection, it makes me more excited to see Portman´s absolutely brilliant performance sweep against a Blanchett, who we are used to seeing win (well deserved) awards often. Portman, on the other hand, is an amazing actress, but doesn´t really have that many great films/performances out there (as opposed to the latter), so to see this particular performance (one of the best actress wins ever) win everything just made me so excited.

    Obviously Blanchett goes next and I want to vote Winlet next, but I hate that she swept the mayor awards for the reader. Revolutionary road is a much better film and performance, and its the film that should have given her the oscar, not the reader (also a great performance).

    Blanchett definitely, though Portman and Mirren would have made great picks, too.

    Portman! Blanchett is always stunning, but 2010/11 was Natalie’s time to shine. Winslet and Mirren were snoozefests, as were their films. Witherspoon was borderline supporting, and Roberts’ win feels like it happened a lifetime ago.

    Portman! Blanchett is always stunning, but 2010/11 was Natalie’s time to shine. Winslet and Mirren were snoozefests, as were their films. Witherspoon was borderline supporting, and Roberts’ win feels like it happened a lifetime ago.

    Happy to know you slept through their performances. Explains a lot.

    Nice to know there are people here love Helen Mirren.Posters here seem to really dislike her,at least in The Queen :P.

    One reason why I voted for her. I was so skeptical at first, but there she was playing the current queen like the actual queen. Never over the top, and nailing her attitudes and mannerisms, including her walk, to perfection.

    I also think Blanchett gave one of the  most membrable and skilled perfs of all time. She made it all her own. If the ridiculous hatred were more at her I probably would have voted for her. Lol.

    Exactly how I felt about that brilliant performance.
    And that’s also why I voted for Helen lol.

    Voted for Blanchett as her sweep is the most agreeable.

    Roberts – Good sweeper but is should have been Burstyn sweeping
    Witherspoon – . Sigh for Zhang and Huffman
    Winslet – Good sweeper but swept for the wrong movie
    Mirren – Fine sweeper but it should have been Dench bulldozing the awards circuit
    Portman – Great sweeper but i’d have chosen Lawrence or Kidman to sweep

    While Mirren was great and Portman had her moments, this would’ve been a bland lineup until Cate Blanchett came along.

    She is already one of the best winners in this category’s history in my opinion.
