Of this list of 2/2 acting winners or of people who won two consecutive awards in acting, which set of two are the best?
Ooooh… it seems it’s Vivien Leigh vs Tom Hanks…
What a great duo of performances.
Gone With The Wind and A Streetcar Named Desire
Philadelphia and Forrest Gump
I went with Tom Hanks for 2 reasons: a) I adore both his perfs; b) Vivien leigh doesn’t have many more great movies other than those two jaw-dropping, amazing, historic ones. Hanks has about 10 more great movies/performances. Apollo 13, Saving Private Ryan, Cast Away, Road to Perdition, Catch me If You Can (how underrated is THIS movie??? DiCaprio, Walken and Hanks give great performances supported by a great witty script and the usual Spielberg directing all converging to a great entertaining experience at the movies of the like we rarely see now apart from Nolan who, in all honesty, couldn’t do a comedy to save his life), A League of Their Own, Toy Story, Toy Story 2, Toy Story 3, The Green Mile, Charlie Wilson’s War and potentially (I’ll be seeing it tonight, finally) Cloud Atlas.
I Picked Leigh, But if you put Bette Davis on the list i would have voted for her.
Vivien Leigh, followed by Jason Robards. Absolutely no other options for me with this list. I am certainly a fan of Hepburn & Tracy, but not so much for these performances, which are fine but not my favorites.
Spacey for me, with Hanks as a close second. Both Spacey’s films are among my ten favorite of all time.
Vivien. But ranking them after that is nigh impossible for me. Hanks, and Robards.
There is no effing way in hell I could choose between Katharine Hepburn and Vivien Leigh.
Miss Leigh, BY A MILE!
