I never hear anyone talk about this year, so I’d like to know if anyone actually likes Tom Jones. I saw it when I was a kid and it didn’t really register that much with me. Seems very weird that Hud and 8 1/2 couldn’t make the line-up.

Gotta go with Tom Jones for this one and am still surprised Cleopatra actually got nominated. It’s an OK movie and Taylor was great and so was Burton but other than that I can’t really say it wowed me.

    1. America, America
    2. Tom Jones
    3. Lilies of the Field
    4. Cleopatra
    5. How the West Was Won

What a dismal year for this category.  Top 2 are the only ones deserving to be nominated.  I really like Tom Jones, it was fun and the actors have a field day. America, America is my choice – it’s a beautiful film by a master.

The John Ford segment in How The West Was Won is the only thing in this line-up to reach any kind of greatness.

I don’t get the love for Tom Jones. It’s a rather boring, very safe, Oscar-bait film.
