The Hours by far!
Philip Glass’ score for The Hours is absolutely vital to the film. It’s as important as the beginning scene with Virginia Woolf going into the river. His score functions as the undulating waters of the river that connect and weave the three stories, the three women together. I don’t know how he didn’t win. Another example of a terrible terrible outcome in the category, lending zero credibility to Academy voters.
A great year for scores, although Frida might have
been the worse choice..
Philip Glass’ score is absolutely original and breathtaking
and for me, keeps me entranced in THE HOURS, of course
with many other factors…
This academy choice was terribly wrong!!!
