Who do you guys think should have won Best Supporting Actor in 2007?
The best performance here is from Casey but he was a lead so my vote goes to Bardem
Not a bad category, but I’ll go ahead and still vote for Bardem.
Casey Affleck gave the best performance of the year in my opinion, yes even better than Daniel Day Lewis, but his inclusion in this category is one of the most fraudulent ever… he is in the movie for more than a half hour after Brad Pitt dies. As such I will stick with the deserving winner Javier Bardem for one of the best villains ever.
Bardem, such an amazing character with a well thought-out and well-directed multi-layered performance.
I think that Casey gave the best performance, but he was a lead. Bardem was amazing, but not even near Casey’s performance.
Am surprised by the vote.. I bet the Academy was more divided (of course Bardem became a forgone conclusion).
I agree with everyone in this thread so far and then cast my vote for Wilkinson.
I love all the actors in this category. Bardem was great in NCFOM, but I think he got the Oscar for having a really horrible haircut and being an overly stoic sociopath. I remember being mesmerized by Wilkinson in Michael Clayton. He played the paranoid, mentally unstable businessman perfectly. He’s an underrated actor in my opinion. He should have won.
