Since the inception of the SAG awards in 1994, there have been 7 women to be nominated for both a Golden Globe and a SAG award for best supporting actress, only to be snubbed by the Oscars.
Who do you think gave the best performance of the seven? Vote and sound out below!November 9, 2012 at 9:42 am #540889
Voted for Jamie Lee Curtis in True Lies (in place of Jennifer Tilly or Rosemary Harris)
Should have gotten in
Cameron Diaz – Being John Malkovich (in place of Angelina Jolie)
Mila Kunis (in place of Hailee Steinfeld)
Were rightly out
Robin Wright Penn (I liked Sally Field better in the same movie)
Cameron Diaz – Vanilla Sky
Anjelica HustonNovember 9, 2012 at 10:21 am #540890
Mila Kunis should have not been nominated for anything if it was up to me. She was just lucky to be in a good movie. Robin Wright will probably rank as the best for me.November 9, 2012 at 11:11 am #540891
poor cameron diaz lolNovember 9, 2012 at 11:21 am #540892
Jamie Lee Curtis should’ve been nominated in ’94 for Supporting over Harris.
Diaz was rightfully snubbed in ’99, there was much better competition.
Diaz would’ve been a worthy nominee I guess in ’01 over Winslet or Mirren. Even though the film was awful.
I don’t understand why Mila Kunis was even in contention in ’10. If she was nominated, she’d just be like Jonah Hill, as in someone who was nominated mainly because of the film and nothing else. Barbra Hershey was much better.November 9, 2012 at 11:07 pm #540893
1. Cameron Diaz, “Being John Malkovich”
2. Jamie Lee Curtis, “True Lies”
3. Mila Kunis, “Black Swan”
4. Robin Wright Penn, “Forest Gump”
5. Maria Bello, “The Cooler”November 10, 2012 at 8:07 am #540894
Mila Kunis doesn’t have a range of characters. All of her characters are pretty much the same in each movie. In Black swan her character was just a laid back person. I really didn’t see Kunis transfor herself in anything. Even in Family guy she’s pretty much the only actor who doesn’t “create” a voice. She just does her own voice, which isn’t easy but it isn’t at the level of Alex Bornstein and Seth Macfarlane. Anyway i’m getting off topic. I like her in Black swan, but i’m sorry she just didn’t show me that she has a lot of talent.November 10, 2012 at 10:56 am #540895
Also, Cate Blanchett in Bandits…
1. Cameron Diaz (BJM)
2. Cate Blanchett (Bandits)
3. Mila Kunis
4. Anjelica HustonNovember 20, 2012 at 1:32 pm #540896
Cameron should have about 5 Oscar noms by now.May 26, 2014 at 7:43 pm #540897
Cameron gave an amazing performance in John Malkovich. I wish she would find more work like that one because she has the potential obviously. Mila Kunis is another one even though if I had to pick one supporting actress from that movie it would have been Barbra HersheySeptember 4, 2014 at 8:07 pm #540898
Jamie-lee Curtis in place of Jennifer Tilly
Robin Wright in place of Rosemary Harris
Angelica Huston in place of Mare Winningham
Cameron Diaz in place of Samantha Morton(1999) & Marissa Tomei(2001)
Mila Kunis & Maia Bello both deserve to be snubbed but Kunis deserved nom more over BelloSeptember 4, 2014 at 8:11 pm #540899
Jamie Lee Curis got my vote. I think category confusion might have hurt her.September 4, 2014 at 9:14 pm #540900
I’ve only seen three…
1. Robin Wright (I’ve only seen Pulp Fiction of the nominees but I’d still definitely put her in over Thurman. One of my favorite sup. act. performances)
2. Cameron Diaz 1999
3. Mila Kunis (She was very good in the part, but I honestly didn’t think she did any better than a number of other actresses could have done in the same role)September 5, 2014 at 9:51 pm #540901
I have no idea where the nominations for Mila Kunis came from and I was glad that the academy felt the same.
