Of course it has to be The King Of Comedy. De Niro deserved a third Academy Award for this film because he didn’t play a serious gangster type as he usually does, and Scorsese made one of his best films with this one!

I voted for FRENZY. It’s one of the more violent, explicit and shocking of Hitchcock’s movies, with interesting casting, and great cinematography by Gilbert Taylor.

Yeah, I went for “Frenzy” too. I find it extremely interesting that pointed towards a new direction in his carreer that we barely got to see. And the cinematography really is great.

“The King Of Comedy” would be my second choice.

And I wish “Memento” wa actually underrated or forgotten, as it’s not really deserving of all the attention and praise it gets all the time, but as it is,  people still remmeber it and many critics still call it Nolan’s best film. Hell, even Cronenberg talked about it recently. So regardless of quality, I don’t think it really fits with this list (that is actually quite good overall).

EDIT: Sorry, I see now that it’s Insomnia. Stupid distracted me said something stupid. Carry on.

    So much THIS.
Definitely one of Scorsese’s best films and De Niro’s best performances.

I, too, voted for The King of Comedy….I did also consider Frenzy because it was such a different experience than any of his other films because he was able to do more with it explicitly….despite this, I wouldn’t rank it among his absolute best.
