The Golden Compass was panned by critics for being incredibly mediocre and lacking anything new. I personally thought it provided a nice fantasy world. I thought Nicole Kidman gave an incredible performance. It had every ingredient to be a great fantasy movie. Yet, the critics didn’t like it. What are your thoughts?
Yes. Yes they did. The Golden Compass, though not executed as well as The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, was thoughtful and etertaining with an attractive art direction.
Nope. I really disliked this movie. The only thing I liked in it was when Kidman slapped the monkey. That’s saying a lot.
I’m a huge fan of the books and was so excited about the film but it was just disappointing.
Looked fantastic but nothing gelled and they stopped at a really important part which made no sense.
A crowd of us went who were all obsessed with the books and came out really pissed off.
