I went with Sigourney. What a bitch!
But Joan is great too imo. That hideous 80’s hair and makeup, the regional accent, and a great best friend type.

I would have voted for Weaver, but as she’s much better as lead actress in Gorillas in the Mist, and her performance in this film is really third-lead, I’ll have to vote for the true supporting actress of the film: Joan Cusack.

Weaver. I really liked her fake faint and when she tossed the gorilla as a nod to gorillas in the mist. Her acting is really sharp.

I hate that movie. When do “nice girls” ever finish first–with the corner office as icing on the cake? Yeah right. We all know only bitches make it in the corporate world. I guess we should be grateful that Melanie Griffith doesn’t fall into some man’s arms at the end.

I like Sigourney Weaver a lot but she should never have faced the indignity of some supporting character telling her to get her “boney ass” out of there.

This isn’t anywhere near close. I voted for Weaver who should’ve won the damn Oscar (although Davis was good too). I love that Cusack got this nomination but I’m sure there were plenty of other women who deserved it more.

What? I’m not sure I know what you mean Vince. I cant imagine anyone wanting to ‘steal’ something from you. Lots of posters start similar threads and games.

    Good you wrote to Tom.

So, Harrison Ford’s character wasnt around at the end?  I adore this film, and own it.

It’s been a while–so Griffith’s character does fall into Ford’s arms at the end? I thought it ended with the newly promoted Griffith telling her new secretary that she (Griffith) will fetch her own coffee. At any rate, it was a compliment to the film that the movie ends with the heroine getting the career–not MAN–of her dreams. But maybe I was wrong about that.

Still think the film was an insult to Miss Weaver’s dignity.
