This is hard. In the end, I went with Mariah.

I don’t know if I can choose. Unlike the male winners, this one is stacked.

    Mariah

Followed by Toni Braxton, then Whitney Houston

(Had Celine Dion won for “The Power of Love,” that would be my favorite.)

OK, finally made my decision. Even the #10 spot is an excellent performance. The decade when ladies made good pop music and not the over-produced stuff these days (I’m an old fogey lol)

    1. Annie Lennox – No More I Love Yous
    2. Whitney Houston – I Will Always Love You
    3. Mariah Carey – Vision of Love
    4. Bonnie Raitt – Something to Talk About
    5. Celine Dion – My Heart Will Go On
    6. kd lang – Constant Craving
    7. Toni Braxton – Un-Break My Heart
    8. Sarah McLachlan – I Will Remember You (Live)
    9. All I Wanna Do – Sheryl Crow
    10. Sarah McLachlan – Building a Mystery (should have been Shawn Colving for Sunny Came Home)

Very hard, so many great winners. I had to go with Whitney. That track remains to be a vocal phenomenon. kd, Celine, Mariah, and Toni get special mentions.

Whitney Houston hands down.  There is a lot of emotion in that song and it is a vocal powerhouse!

Ridiculous to even try to pick. Every one of those is a fantastic track and a wonderful performance.

Right now, I think my vote is for Toni Braxton, but KD, Whitney, Mariah, and Bonnie Raitt would all be on  short list. And that takes nothing away from the other great winners.

    1. Whitney Houston, “I Will Always Love You”

    2. Mariah Carey, “Vision of Love” (Sinead O’Connor’s showstopping “Nothing Compares 2 U” would have been an awesome pick as well. Just would like to point that out.)

    3. Annie Lennox, “No More ‘I Love You’s'”

    4. k.d. Lang, “Constant Craving”

    5. Toni Braxton, “Un-Break My Heart”

    6. Sarah McLachlan, “Building a Mystery”

    7. Sarah McLachlan, “I Will Remember You” (Live)

    8. Sheryl Crow, “All I Wanna Do”

    9. Celine Dion, “My Heart Will Go On”

    10. Bonnie Raitt, “Something to Talk About”

Of course the iconic, legendary, epic, spellingbinding, untouchable, groundbreaking, immitated, relevant, and earth shattering vocals of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You”

Wow, this one is hard to choose from, these women were not just singing, they were sanging!

I have to go with Mariah for “Vision of Love” (one of the most powerful debut songs, emotional, reflective, touching and one of my favorites/best songs from her)

Honorable Mentions: Whitney-“I Will Always Love You”, (real tearjerker, a lot of emotion, heartbreaking), K.D., Toni, Bonnie, Sheryl and Sarah for “Building a Mystery” (dark, intense, even though my favorite that year was “Butterfy” by Mariah)
