It’s that time of year when the world falls in love. Every song you hear seems to say “Merry Christmas.”
What’s your favorite holiday-related song that was introduced on stage, televsion or in a film. There have been many that have been featured in films (or in videos to promote an album) but which is the best one actually introduced in a real flim or musical.
Honestly, this is really really hard.
For years, I use to say my favorite Christmas song is “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas”, but as I have gotten older, I have grown to appreciate other songs more.
The only one that is not in consideration is going to be “Believe”, pretty song but it is not a classic to me.
I am actually going to rank them from last-to-first:
6-Holly Jolly Christmas
5-We Need a Little Christmas
The top four is where it becomes hard, because any of these are deserving and also are among the best Christmas songs ever.
#4-It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas
#3-Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
#1-White Christmas (The reason I chose this one is because it is probably one of the most defining songs of any holiday and Bing Crosby’s version is still highly regarded as the ultimate Christmas recording, as simple and subtle as it is. Irving Berlin was definitely the voice of America when it came to music.)
