I remember someone wrote in the Emmy forum one time, that everyone in Seinfeld couldn’t have been cast any better since each character is unique and perfect in their own way. Which character do you prefer?
Honestly, it would come down between Elaine and George for me.
I mean, Jerry Seinfeld was always funny but he was essentially playing himself and he never really was showcased as an actor…he was ironically the weak link amongst the four (though that is still very high considering all four of them were first rate).
Kramer (Richards) was really the breakout of the four, but his shtick kind of got old for me on many ocassions and I have never been pleased with the fact that he won three Emmys while Jason Alexander haz ZERO.
So, George and Elaine were in some ways, very unlikable as characters and they did some nasty and stupid things at the expense of other people (George and Susan anyone?) but they were DAMN funny and both Jason Alexander and Julia Louis-Dreyfuss were stellar in these roles.
I think by a hair my vote goes to Jason as George Costanza…a performance that should have won him at least one Emmy, but I would prefer at least 2.
I loved Kramer. He was quirky and he used to fall all the time.
George Louis Costanza!
I still watch Seinfeld very, very often and George is by far the best character. His mix of paranoia and laziness are used so well that its impossible for him to have a bad moment. I love how he can be so unlikeable (possibly one of the most unlikeable TV comedy characters in history) but he is still so lovable and has a dedicated fan base
Toss up between Elaine and Kramer.
A tie between Elaine and Kramer! I went with Elaine.
No one likes Jerry as a character on this poll.
Either George or Elaine, but since Elaine Vs. The Soup Nazi is my favorite Seinfeld moment, I voted for her.
