Which actor do you think deserved the supporting actor oscar in 67? I think Hackman gave the more natural and textured performance managing to stand out in such a great ensemble. Kennedy was a great winner though but just not my pick. People must be suprised given my username that I opted for Hackman, but he’s my favorite actor ever and this film is the beginning of his great career.
I really like both, so I’ll pick George just because I like his film just a bit more (would’ve loved if Newman’s Oscar had been for this film too).
I like Gene Hackman, although I think Parsons gives the best overall performance in the film.
I voted for Hackman as I believed he was the best thing about that film. I truly believe if I could choose someone from that film to have won, I would have chosen Hackman in a hearbeat as opposed to the overrated Estelle Parsons.
I like his film just a bit mor.
Hackman for sure…love him in BONNIE & CLYDE!
Kennedy gives one lousy cajun accent!!! I was born & raised on Bayou Lafourche in south east Louisiana…so I know what a real cajun accent sounds like and Kennedy didn’t come close. Barbara Hershey in SHY PEOPLE, Michael Jeter in THE GREEN MILE and the vocieover work of Jim Cummings in THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG are just about it as for good cajun accents in films.
