It’s actually pretty suprising Jamie Lee Curtis got nominated, it must have been a weak year for comedy that year but it’s awesome because she’s my vote. Scarlett is also good and I haven’t seen the others
Voted for Lee Curtis. Should have been Oscar nominated.
I went with Keaton, but Curtis was a VERY worthy nominee and I would have been fine with an Oscar nominee for her. It was physical comedy with a heart, which earned a nomination (and should have been a win) for Tom Hanks in Big, and should have earned one for Steve Martin in All of Me. Jamie Lee was no filler nominee here.
If you watch Freaky Friday, you’ll find that the performances by Lee Curtis and Lohan are both interchangable. It’s actually hard to imagine one of them without the other, due to how crucially they have to work off of each other. Lee Curtis was probably more of a frontrunner because she was a more respected actress than Lohan, but nomination wise, it should have been both or nothing.
I’m not dismissing her nomination, obviously I voted for her for a reason, it’s just that it was a Disney movie that just suprises me that got attention at the Globes.
