I can’t believe Atonement won this. Those were the two best films of the year, with a sharp drop off for everything else. There Will Be Blood5. Eastern Promises6. American Gangster7. The Great Debaters While I support NCFOM at the Oscars, the GG are about something different: star power, glamor, big-scale epics, sweeping love stories. Atonement has it all. The Oscars are more prestigious and reward more intimate, challenging and thrilling stories…hence, NCFOM.
