Lizzy Caplan, Mean Girls
Kirsten Dunst, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Virgina Madsen, Sideways
* Rachel McAdams, Mean Girls
Meryl Streep, The Manchurian Candidate
Honorable mentions: Sophie Okonedo, Amanda Seyfried (Mean Girls) and Daryl Hannah (Kill Bill Vol 2)
Regina King snub for Ray was heartbreaking. She should have been a nominee.
I actually very much like the final slate, with my only change probably be switching in McAdams and Hannah for Okonedo and Linney.
In my ideal world, Blanchett would’ve won already for Elizabeth. While she’d make a good winner regardless, the winner would probably come down to Portman and Madsen. I’d probably lean toward the latter.
Not a particularly stand out year. But considering the field the nominees were decent.
1. Rachel McAdams, Mean Girls
2. Virginia Madsen, Sideways
3. Yenny Paola Vega, Maria Full of Grace
4. Natalie Portman, Closer
5. Cate Blanchett, The Aviator
Lizzy Caplan deserved to win for Mean Girls. She was way better than McAdams.
