Who do you feel was the deserving win at the Oscars last year.

Changed some stuff up. Apparently my original poll was too sucky…

Finally, a JB song. And who better to sing it? Adele.

Nothing. I would have chosen a different winner in every category.

    Yeah, right

Worst Oscar – Chris Terrio winning adapted screenplay over Tony Kushner’s poetic and breathtaking script for Lincoln

May I ask what the issue with Tarantino’s screenplay is? For me the issue with the film was the editing, probably due to the loss of Sally Menke.

Personally my issue with the screenplay was the fact that it was just WAY too long. And I have nothing against long movies but in the case of Django Unchained it seemed like so much of it was just unnecessary. It seemed like Tarantino just kpet scenes because he thought they sounded clever not because they actually furthered the story. It was just sequence after sequence with not good thread that connected them all together. If he was going to win again it should have been for Inglourios Basterds, an almost equally long movie but one where every scene felt valuable to the story.

I still find that to be more of a problem with the editing, as it is the editor’s job to cut down the film and reduce clutter and unnecessary scenes.

Fair enough but I’m sure as director he had a significant amount of say in keeping the scenes in just because he liked them. And just another point I also think the characters were much more one dimensional and uninteresting in DU. I found probably every single character in IB more compelling and well-rounded then a single character in Django
