Of the 10 most recent Oscar recipients for Best Supporting Actor, who do you think is most likely to win an Oscar in the lead category someday?
My first instinct was George Clooney, but it is hard to say. You never know who will bounce back with an amazing lead performance. In Clooney’s case, every nomination he has had after his win for SYRIANA has been better.
I suspect that as time goes on, Clooney will edge toward being behind the camera more and more… Of these candidates, Bardem seems to have the most likely formula of x-factors, boiling down to being at a point in his career where he can potentially still get baity LEADING roles, the necessary critical acclaim and the Academy respect to translate into a future Lead win.
Clooney kept getting better and better with Clayton then Up in the Air then Descendants plus good ones like Gravity. He will probably pop out another good one
he is snubed numerous times(rescue dawn-amercan psycho-machinist)
It’s between Clooney and Bale for me. I chose Bale mostly because I believe Clooney is more likely to win Best Director at this point in his career.
I went with Clooney.
Christian Bale is coming. He will have two before DiCaprio is nominated again.
Clooney’s won one; I don’t know if he has the perceived chops for another.
