Yesterday, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced their inductees for the 2014 class.

    Who is your favorite?

    1. Ronstadt
    2. Nirvana
    3. Stevens
    4. Gabriel

I can only take a few songs of the last 2 inductees:

    5. Kiss
    6. Hall & Oates

By far, Cat Stevens, who is one of my all-time favourite artists. I am absolutely thrilled that he got in, and while I knew he was nominated, I didn’t think he would have enough support to get the induction. I’m glad that the Hall of Fame has been recognizing some of my favourite artists that I feel are far too often overlooked in general: Donovan (2012), The Hollies (2010), George Harrison (2004). Perhaps the Zombies will make it in next year 😀

Even though I don’t mind their music (more of a guilty pleasure), it seems odd that Hall & Oates have now been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

    1. Hall and Oates
    2. Peter Gabriel
    3. Nirvana
    4. Linda Ronstadt (find it sad that women are underrepresented in the hall)
    5. Cat Stevens
    6. Kiss (like Rush fans, Kiss fans can stop complaining about them being in the hall)

Overall, I like the recent inductees as they are all musically diverse and glad that it is being represented. My pet peeve with the Hall of Fame is the avid rock fans who complain that certain artists aren’t “rock” enough to be included when the roots of rock have R&B, blues, gospel and country influences.
