Which one of these winners of the past 10 years had the best screenplay?
I went with Pedro. Followed by Arndt and Cody.
3. Cody / Arndt
Went with Kaufman, fairly easily.
Close behind were Talk to Her, Lost in Translation, Little Miss Sunshine, Milk, and Midnight in Paris.
Tough, but I went with Lost In Translation. It took the basic framework of a standard romantic comedy/drama and brought added depth humor and emotion and didn’t go for the cheap and easy emotion.
2. Little Miss Sunshine
3. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Crash and The King’s Speech are shameful inclusions in this otherwise fantastic list.
After that the decision is TOUGH. Kaufman, Arndt, Cody and Almodovar are my tops.
I voted for the King’s Speech. Great screenplay.
Happy to see the number of votes for Little Miss Sunshine. Also loved Midnight in Paris. I was going to remain silent in this thread, because Juno is on the list.
