With NBC’s turn up, next is FOX unless the Emmy want to ditch the networks. Of all of these picks I think Samberg will be the pick with past hosting experience (Spirit Awards last year), SNL live training, musical talent (The Lonely Island), impressions, and the hot new show like Glee was for Jane Lynch last time around. But they might want to push their underdog like with Meyers and go with John Mulaney. Who do you think they will pick?

Either Samberg, Lynch, or Short. Either way it can’t lose. I would also throw another name out there: Will Forte (He has a sitcom coming out soon on FOX). I think Lynch has an edge though: won two Emmys (including one for hosting a reality show) and people seem to love her (myself included…..I haven’t met anyone that doesn’t like her).

Definitely Andy Samberg, for all the reasons you stated, Kyle. He’s willing to be goofy, he can do song and dance and he’s on a show that Fox clearly loves and wants to nurture into a hit. And he proved himself Monday night, IMO.

Jane Lynch and perhaps she’ll host some Hollywood Game Night games to start the show or something. That would be fun.

Jane Lynch is no longer associated with FOX. Hasn’t she left “Glee”? It would be weird if they hired her when she presents a program on NBC.

Andy Samberg is the obvious choice if “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” doesn’t get cancelled this season.

FOX Emmy telecasts are usually huge messes. Hopefully next year turns out to be an exception.

Oh, that’s true. I change my mind. I’ll go with something different. John Mulaney and Martin Short co-host the show.

Jane Lynch hasn’t left the show her character just has gotten less screen time as the focus has shifted from the school to the New York kids. The show will have ended by the time the ceremony happens but Neil Patrick Harris hosted during the final season of his show too so it wouldn’t be crazy

Neil hosted before the end of his show, not after. I also wouldn’t bet on John Mulaney or Martin Short because that show looks TERRIBLE and likely to get cancelled. (FOX won’t want that prominent a reminder of an axed show on the Emmys.) So, best case scenario, B99 stays on and Samberg hosts or they go outside the network entirely (ABC did this in 2004 with Shandling, CBS in 05 with Ellen, FOX in 95 with Jason Alexander and Cybill Shepherd).

I thought the same thing about Brooklyn Nine-Nine last year. It ended up being pretty good (not the best new comedy or the second best or even the third best, but better than the others). I lost interest in watching though after about 10 episodes and haven’t caught up yet.

FOX could go for Billy Crystal. FX counts, right?

Yeah but I think Fox will want to push their network more. I think Mulaney will do well he is a very funny guy I mean he is the writter of SNL highlight character Stefon so he has proven he is funny. But Seth Green has also proven he is funny and then Dads happened.

Fingers cross for Mindy Kaling and Andy Samberg hosting together.

Samberg, I think, as B99 looks like it will be a very big hit.

B99 never screamed BOMB the way Mulaney does. First it’s multi cam with a pained laugh track, a genre FOX hasn’t launched a hit in since … That 70s Show? Second, if I hear that pained joke about how he’ll never be on Letterman ONE MORE TIME. This will drag on for a season like Dads and be mercifully axed.

How? Didn’t it actually do worse after the Super Bowl?
