Can he? Certainly, especially with a Weinstein pull. Will he? I doubt it. It’s an uphill battle, with four of the five slots apparently taken now (assuming the buzz for Washington doesn’t fade too much and the acclaim for Hawkes carries him through). Hopkins, Cooper and Jackman will all (assumedly) be fighting vigorously for that final placement, and it seems probable that Silver Linings Playbook and Les Miserables will be treated more amicably by the Academy (although time could always tell).

I think, yes. I adore Tarantino btw, and looking at his films, I’d say there’s a damned good chance the film will receive two acting nods.

Hmmm… Best Actor seems crowded, but yeah, there’s still a chance, even if it’s only a slight one.

I think Robert Forster, Samuel L Jackson, John Travolta, Waltz himself, Uma Thurman, (am I forgetting anyone? Some robbed actors sure)
would say yes. There’s a very very good chance. Django is a true mystery at the moment. I’m rooting for it to be as good as any other of his films, although, I dont expect Pulp Fiction level. But who knows?

Of course there is a chance…I think the more likely scenario is the actor’s branch ignoring Harvey’s suggestion and place Waltz in the supporting category.  Also, I’m saying all of this without having seen the film so who the hell knows.  I hope the final film is better than the trailers as I am a huge Tarantino fan and also it was shot in Louisiana and I’m for any Louisiana shot film getting all the attention possible!!!

I can relate JayDF. Whenever a film (so many of them) is shot in my neck of the woods, which is beautiful Banff and Alberta, it adds a lot to my enjoyment of the movie.
