One of my favourite reality-competition shows returns on May 31st. This time around Simon Cowell returns to American television as a judge for the first time in I think 6 years.
Simon replacing Howard was honestly the best decision AGT ever made. I hate judges that are all yes-men and that love everything. Having someone like him who is judgmental but honest makes more much stronger T.V. and if the promos or his persona on Britain’s Got Talent is anything to go by, then I expect that this will be the best season of AGT since season 7. Man, I am so excited!May 20, 2016 at 7:14 am #1201839376
Can’t wait! Bummed out its not in NY anymore cuz once you go to a live show you want to go back and now I cant lol.May 31, 2016 at 10:14 pm #1201842836
I will post my thoughts on tonight’s auditions tomorrow.June 1, 2016 at 6:15 am #1201842898
Ok so just my thoughts on the auditions last night:
LOVE the chemistry between the judges. All the acts that went through I would have put through except for the singer and dancer combo and the dog act.June 1, 2016 at 11:49 am #1201843024
Thoughts on first audition episode.
Nathan: Eh. It was okay. I found him more annoying than funny personally.
Jose and Carrie: Just… silly. I mean, it’s impressive for the dog, but it’s mostly silly to me.
The Clairvoyants: I am mostly a skeptic when it comes to theses kinds of acts, and they didn’t change that. All the tricks were highly suspect to me.
Linkin’ Bridge: Totally wonderful.
Hara: Unbelievable. I would watch that tomorrow.
Charles and Rose: Kinda stupid.
Tape Face: A big surprise. Kinda loved it.
Ryan Stock: I was aware of Ryan prior to his audition. He is completely disgusting and my parents hated it, but I couldn’t take my eyes off of it.
Laura Bretan: If I auditioned in the same city as her and I heard her audition, I would pack up my things and leave, because she stole the show.June 8, 2016 at 6:58 am #1201848430
Agreed on everyone that went through except for the hard tock elderly singer lol. Also, that little girl at the end was great but out of everyone last night I don’t see that as being golden buzzer worthy at the same time.June 8, 2016 at 12:31 pm #1201848536
Reactions to second episode auditions.
Alla & Daniel: Eh. It’s cute I guess.
Jonathan Nosan: He’s a good contortionist, but he’s not memorable.
Musicality: Again, very okay.
Les Bunheads: Didn’t really like it.
Edgar: Good, but not great.
Gary Sladek: Incredible!
Malevo: It was fun. It was fresh. I loved it.
D.J. Demers: I wasn’t really laughing, but I understood how he got through.
John Hetlinger: A massive surprise, but I loved it.
Elevenplay: It was nice, but it wasn’t something that I thought was really memorable.
Grace VanderWaal: She was good, but not Golden Buzzer worthy. A waste of Howie’s Golden Buzzer.June 15, 2016 at 7:49 am #1201851340
Ok so I agreed with almost all of the ones that got put through except for the lady that had Simon on stage with her and I honestly feel bad for saying it but I’m not wowed by tightrope walkers. Don’t get me wrong its a rare thing but I just cant watch that…like when the wallenda guy did that across the grand canyon I was getting anxiety for him. Also not happy to see Sal from Idol get a Golden buzzer. Great voice but not golden buzzer worthy.June 15, 2016 at 9:33 am #1201851362
Thoughts on 3rd audition episode.
Good Girl: Good, but nothing sets them apart.
The John Rothman Dancers: Great for their age, but it probably won’t be as good as other dance troupes this year.
Russian Bar Trio: Awesome to see them back. My problem is that they can’t really change or improve on the basic.
Kadie Lynn Roberson: Why didn’t they give her the Golden Buzzer? She actually deserves it more than that Grace chick.
Duo Guerrero: I love the danger and the relationship, they’re great!
OneVoice: Again, they are good, but nothing sets them apart.
Lori Mae Hernandez: Eh. Not super funny, but the best comedian I’ve seen so far.
Viktor Kee: The best juggler I’ve ever seen.
Sal Valentinetti: I remember him from American Idol and also that Vinny dislikes him. I thought he was pretty good, but there’s something about him that I just don’t like.June 22, 2016 at 6:01 am #1201854856
A much as it shocks me, I have to say that I agreed with everyone they put through. Simon’s Golden Buzzer should easily get very far this season. Best singer they have shown so far since the little opera girl in my opinion. Only thing I was annoyed by this episode was that the singer that played the piano that didn’t go through (Simon said something like you should have brought a piano player or something along those lines). I thought he was good.June 22, 2016 at 6:25 am #1201854863
I simply adored the 62 year old, potty mouthed, retired English teacher transgender comedienne. Julia is a breath of fresh air who made me laugh out loud more than once.
Long may she reign –June 22, 2016 at 9:14 am #1201854933
Thoughts on Auditions #4
Alfredo & Anna: Pretty good.
Elias & Zion: Pretty good, again.
The Finest Family: Eh.
Parker Garrison: Good.
Axel Perez: Great! I hope he doesn’t share the same fate as Cristin Sandu however.
Cinematic Pop: Eh.
Jayna Brown: She was alright.
Sos & Victoria: I just kept thinking “David & Dania did it better”.
Jon Dorenbos: Great trick! I hope to see more of him.
Vello Vaher: Interesting, but I think he’ll be a one-trick pony.
Ronee Martin: Good voice, bad wardrobe.
Mika Nieminen: He’s a madman but I love him!
Julia Scotti: It’s pretty funny. Definitely getting a Grandma Lee vibe here.
Calysta Bevier: Another damn singer gets the Golden Buzzer, but in all seriousness, I think she deserved it. Only she and Laura actually deserved the GB this year.June 29, 2016 at 7:01 am #1201858533
Ok so for the second week in a row I agreed with every act that went through. The act with the dog already won a show apparently but it was only 100,000 (at least this is what I learned on the facebook page for AGT yesterday). That last singer. AMAZING. So far its between the magician in the first episode, the comedian last week, and him for the win in my opinion.June 29, 2016 at 1:10 pm #1201858664
Thoughts on Auditions #5
Ryan Beard: Cute, but not as funny as I wanted.
Kadan Rockett: The oldest trick in the book. So fake. Do something else.
Patrick and Ginger: Great story, and a cute act, but I don’t know if they’ll get really far.
Raii and Whitney: Pretty good.
ThroWings: Okay. Nothing really sets them apart though.
Dan Meyer: This guy’s crazy but I love it.
Sofie Bossi: I’ve seen before, so nothing really stood out for me.
Christopher: I kinda loved it.
Brian Justin Crum: Perfect AGT fodder. Gay, bullied, decent voice. He’ll probably win the whole thing, watch and see.
