Because Winter Green has already featured in Drag Race 9, can she submit for All Stars 3 and wipe out the competition?

The finale was a lot of fun, but I can’t help but feel disappoined and get the sense that this whole thing was somehow rigged, from the start of course. You can’t come up with this idea of the finale with lip syncs for the crown when you still believe there will be a Top 3. And there was no indication (supposedly) that we would get a Top 4 until everybody excelled in the final challenge. Which makes it even harder to digest that this idea suddenly came to Ru and now the obvious 4th place finisher up until that moment, ended up being the runner up only because of a spinning wheel that was used only once…and because it would send a message in favor of the trans community. Which is nice, but not like this. Trinity shouldn’t have picked (I mean, be forced to pick) Peppermint, at least have the decency to give the impression that a second spin of the wheel did that for her.

It also seems ridiculous that because of a (really awesome and hilarious) dress reveal, Peppermint gets to screw Trinity, Shea and almost Sasha out of their deserved places when all of them kicked her ass throughout the season, with the possible exception of the final episode. It’s not that we predicted a Sasha/Shea finale so much that now I’m crying about it, it’s that it was deserved and made A LOT of sense.

And finally, was that all that Shea had to offer? Against Sasha of all people? After the things she did in both of her previous lipsyncs and her dancing throughout the show? Once again, I feel like this was rigged and she was told to tone it down.

Sasha is a fantastic winner, I wanted Shea to win and her third or fourth place finish does make me mad, but Sasha deserved this too and she got it, so it’s all fine in the end.

Seeing the queens come out reminded me of how dull this season was when it started, and the Eureka drama, the unncessary and extremely annoying invitation to Cynthia (who finally did something good, she looked amazing here). But it did pick up eventually and turned into a great second half with Nina and her last names, the Valentina situation that will be remembered forever, how awful Alexis Michelle was, and these four final fantastic queens. But again, this shit was rigged and Shea was extremely screwed.

Finally….that Katy Perry message was added after the finale was taped and Sasha had no idea who was sending her a message, right? She couldn’t have been less excited…I mean even Peppermint was shocked and excited for Laverne Cox and she said they’ve been friends for years. It felt as fake as the winner’s announcement, which we know every queen gets one.

I wish we could get an All Stars 3 soon, but the last one isn’t even a year old yet. Anyway, congrats Sasha!

^^ I don’t really agree with it being rigged from the start, because there were so many opportunities for Sasha to win a challenge on her own, especially on Alexis Michelle’s last week, because Shea didn’t have a true rainbow look.

I was thinking the same thing about Shea’s final lipsync, it seemed toned down, but I think Sasha still would have beaten her even if Shea had done the things we’ve seen her do.

And I always find those celebrity messages to be cringy, but Laverne Cox’s was pretty good.

Honey, that reunion was all about Valentina. She is the true winner of season 9. The queens had CTS (Can’t Take Syndrome) towards Valentina. She handled all the girls’ jealousy with class and grace. I usually like Shea, but she came off as bitchy and bitter.

Rigged as in “for a Top 4 finale” for this nonsense to work out. Not rigged “from the start” in favor of Sasha or Peppermint to be there and/or win. It could’ve been anybody. I mean it as in typical reality show cliche (almost always Project Runway) they didn’t just happen to decide on four girls because they were that good in the final challenge, which I foolishly believed because 1. They were and 2. I didn’t get that this was the intention behind a “final lipsync”. I thought they would just do it all together once again like they did in that final challenge.

Honey, the finale was cute. While Trinity slightly outperformed Peppermint, I’m glad Peppermint made the top two over Trinity. Sasha totally destroyed Shea. It was like Shea was sleepy. Well deserved top two. I knew once Valentina got eliminated, Sasha would win. Duh! It was totally obvious. The show never had a “artsy/club kid” winner. Another African-American drag queen winner was not happening.

All Stars 3 will be quite interesting because I am sure that Shea, Trinity and Peppermint will be invited.

And Valentina, of course. It will be very season 9 heavy, just like last one was season 5 heavy.

Well that was a fun finale …

Now it had apparently already leaked that Shea and Sasha , and Trinity and pep were lip-syncing and that then they only filmed Sasha and Pep being crowned.

Bummed me out it god spoiled, I do think there is obs some manufacturing to the show and its of course not all made up in the spot. I think ru knew weeks ago how she would do the finale. I wish she would have filmed trinty and Shea winning and doing another lip-sync also .. That way when the show aired you would only know the top two. Or just do the whole think live.

Now to the show .. I think all four deserved to be there , they all did what they had to do to get to the top , they all would have made amazing winner. It doesn’t matter how many challenges you win and what you do during the show. it’s a performance based show and Shea and Trinity didn’t beat Pep and Sasha … Shea never did anything spectacular with her lip-syncs on the show either… and trinty did a great job had she been against Shea she would have won….. But Peppermint and Sasha took my breath away … I was in a bar watching with people and we were all collectively dying for them both.

The final lipsync …. Pep did a very good job …But Sasha sold it like no other … its imo one of the best lip-syncs ive ever seen on the show.

    Looks
    On the stage –
Jaymes – Boot / makeup is bad / dress is meh
    Kimora – toot
Eureka – toot I live for that head dress
Cynthia – love the dress hat the hair – boot
Aja – boot – hate the peplum on the dress , hate the shawl and the hair
Farrah – boot- Too big, it’s a mess
Valentina – toot – I like this look , not what she had on the red carpet
    Nina- Toot
Alexis – toot – best she has ever looked
    Shea
Black outfit- boot – don’t love the fabric or the syling
1st lipsync – Toot – the whole thing was a pleather meh

    Trinty –
Green and blue dress- Toot – love the dress do hate the color
1st lipsync – Good outfit – good reveal – toot

    Peppermint
Green and white – Toot – that swirl was amazing
1st lipsync- Toot – amazing reveal from that gladiator to the gown
2nd lipsync – toot- good dance outfit .. wish it was something prettier in case she had won.

    Sasha
    Bride of Dracula – TOOOT
1st lipsync- boot the dress it was boring .. but the roses were everything
2nd lipsync – It is probably my favorite outfit of the season amazing- SHOOOT

It certainly does matter how many challenges won during the season outright, or you’re negating almost a decade’s worth of show history. That’s what happened with Shea here. The reaction is very mixed online at having a final lip sync challenge counting this much toward the winner like the season was secondary. That should mean more in theory than just getting the finalist there.

Peppermint completely lucked up in going from fourth place to second place, and in the “old” system, she wouldn’t have made the finale at all. Shea indeed shat the bed in her lip sync, so that mistake should mean something, I guess. Trinity’s loss looks to be questionable in some circles, though I felt like I’d seen this routine from her before (especially with the harsh tuck reveal). Either way, Sasha’s victory is amazing in theory. No queen like her has ever won or likely will win again. It’s just the getting to this point that’s problematic.

yea but at the end of the day it doesn’t matter who won what … shea slayyed in the competition and made it to the end… so did everyone else … and since ru dictates how the show goes she decides what will happen.. if she had wanted shea to win she would have… Rupaul wanted to see more and shea couldn’t deliver .. peppermint and Sasha did and rupaul rewarded them with being top two…. now i think Ru probably always was going to pick Sasha unless she fucked it up… which is what Valentina did…… So i dont think it negates history … ever season is different and they won those challenges and or the seasons for a reason.

That’s semantics. Yes, Ru is the final decision maker who picks the winner, but winning the challenges get you to the finale. They meant something in the past where that distinction would seal a queen’s victory. Now the precedent has been set that the winningest queen can lose the crown in this new format (the last to win as many as Shea Coulee was Sharon Needles). People are perfectly just in being upset over a final lip sync meaning this much. It will cause an entirely new strategic game moving forward in later seasons.

yea but your not taking into account who those queens were competing against … Sharon was a new and exciting queen who was competing against Chad who is great as a polished female impersonator and Phi Phi who is amazing at her drag now .. but wasn’t going to win then… Sharon was the front runner by a mile not based on her wins based on her talent. And in both those cases Alaska and Sharon i believe would have slayed a finale of lipsyncs … Because they were the best, Chad, Katya and Detox were all amazing… but they were never going to win …this season has always felt like a coin toss

The same for Alaska … She won all the challenges on her own merit and then won the title by being the best there was in that competition.

Now Shea she won four … two were shared victories so it wasn’t a straight four like Sharon and Alaska .

And i dont think she was ever as good as those two … Trinity i think actually was the best preforming queen of the Season with 3 individual wins …. Sasha won two as a group and then never fell into the bottom and obs Peppermint has the worst track recorded going into the finale.

And you aren’t taking into account any of my analysis on series precedents or histories, so whatever.

i am…. Its never happened before…. Im just saying it doesn’t matter the show is based on talent not how many times you can win a challenge if you cant win the big one it doesn’t matter… like the amazing race, you can lose every leg up until the finale and then win.
